How To Create Gdm

There are a few ways to create your own GDM for Linux.

One way: You can download a GDM Theme (anywhere, like Gnome-look.org), or go to /usr/share/gdm/themes and take a look through the files.
The files consist mostly of graphics and two files that can be edited with a text editor.
After changing things around the way you want to, you simply repackage it and install it with the Login Screen GUI.

For an easy way to change around the look of the login screen, someone has created a GUI to do so. Simply go to http://forumubuntusoftware.info/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=427 and follow instructions and your off on your way.
