i like the first but not the large one. nice stuff. oh and sorry for saying i'd try and design a logo for you and never getting around to it. it's kinda hard when don't know the 'subject' and their style and preferences though.

sorry to offend you. i'm just giving my honest opinion. As for what program to use: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator do the trick. seeing as you're twelve (i'm fourteen), like myself, you probably don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on software. in that case use the GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program).

and dont forget the JASC photopaint with its trial... after the end of its 30 trial day, you can keep using with out its most advanced feats. but i guess you are not going to use those.

You can allso find Adobe Photoshop Elements for under 100 bucks, sometimes even less.
It has most of the functionality of photoshop, minus the pre-press junk, which you'll probably never use.

also if you look on ebay you can find a legit copy of photoshop for under $100 (might not be latest version but its all good)
