You are absolutely correct. It's not. That's not a free font. You cannot give that font away, even after you pay the 21$ that gives you permission to use it.
I've notified the administration @ devart about the inclusion of that font in that vs. As of right now they have distributed that font over 50,000 times. Oops.
This site's policy concerning the illegal distribution of other's intellectual property has not changed.
We don't condone or promote the distribution of stolen property, whether it's software, fonts, cars, guitars, babies etc. in the customize.org forums.

so, are you telling us that you are going to remove around 45% off the submissions in vs? Coz, there are a lot (and i mean a lot) of styles that includes licensed fonts.

I think it's hilarious you guys all shit your pants with outrage when someone steals (rips) from one of our own, but it's perfectly okay with you to fuck a fellow (font) designer in the ass.
This is the fact, and I cannot make it clearer than this:
Distributing a a font that you have no right to distribute is the same thing as distributing a cracked copy of of photoshop. You are subject to the same litigation.
You guys are missing the larger issue here, I don't give a fuck what you steal or how or when, and I'm not saying I'm guilt free. I'm not passing judgement on YOU, I'm protecting this website. Because heylove, that's part of what we do here. If you want to distribute non- free fonts outside this site, get nuts.
There is a difference between illegally distributing a piece of software or font as opposed to using a logo, and there's plenty of info on the internet about this. Go read it before you compare them.
Honestly I had no idea about any of this. And you guys might not think it's a big deal, and it may not be, but it leaves a definite backdoor for someone to take this site to court and pretty much take lamplighter for all his pennies, and then where are we?

Let's leave it at this: If you have a submission that contains a font you KNOW is not in freely distributable, as in you did not purchase it, you don't have any rights to freely distribute it, etc., I'll leave it up to you to remedy it.
In the meantime keep in mind if someone does come hunting for compensation, and they will eventually, they just are ignorant at this point, as I was, you're going to get the living fuck sued out of you and you will be guilty, guilty, guilty and more than likely this site will be out of business. All it's going to take is one lawyer and a font designer with a bug up his ass.

i agree colossus. i never want to live the day when this site goes under. i'd be bored out of my pants. i hope evryone realizes how easily this site could go out of business, especially for something as simple and stupid as 'stolen fonts'.
