power supply help
|
Does anyone know of an app or a way in XP to find out your power supply's wattage? on the actual p/s itself it only states voltage as 200v, but i'm looking to get a new gfx card that requires a 300 or more watt p/s. I couldn't find it on XP's system info, even when i ticked "show hidden devices" also everest didn't help any. Thanks.

any system monitoring program with a modern mainboard can tell you the current usage, but generally not the information you seek. to get the official word from the retailer, all that information should be in the documentation.
what is the brand and model?
i am looking at the retail box for my psu. it lists peak and total in watts. and the rails in amps. only voltage rating is per rail and of coarse the AC input. if it only lists 200V, then you must be reading the AC input sticker near the plug. all the stats should be listed on the top depending on fan and accessory placement. you will have to probably pull it out or find the document on the retailers website.

Uh, I wouldn't pull it apart if I were you. I would actually try to find the model somewhere on the internet or something before you pull it apart because it might void your warranty and I don't think you want to do that.

Not if it's running Windows, it has shit inside by default.
