I'm writing an article for Tek. It's about dead skinnable apps and why they die. It's sort of an investigative report. When possible, I'm going to contact the author/coder to see what happened or why they lost interest.
The thing is that over the years, a lot of apps have died. I can't fit them all in one article, so I'm taking requests. That's where you guys come in. If you use or used to use an app that is dead, just tell me the name and whatever you know about it.
For those curious, skinnables lists the status of all the apps it lists. The site is basically one big software list. It also has a sort of museum of apps in its archive.

So far these are the apps I'm deffinately including. I know most the story on these, and am confident I can get in touch with the authors.

Is ShellWM dead? The last time I checked, it was slowly dying, and its SourceForge project page is down.
If it is, I'd be interested in knowing how/why it died.

ShellWM and Coolplayer are in not quite dead. Each has a coder willing to work on it. BOth are having problems, tho. ShellWM is hard cuase of the nature of the app, and CoolPlayer is written in pure, rarely used c (which is the point of the app).
EFx and Eppie I might be able to did something up.
I have a feeling Sysmeter had the same cause of death as EFx, as they were both Thirty4 Interactive apps (ppl that brought us skinz.org the first time).
Scribbles: 545 may just get a whole section to itself. I was a strong supporter of the site when it was around. I don't know what jier has to say, if any thing at all, but I can get in touch with him possibly.
..... anymore? Aminews popped in my mind for some reason, but I no nothing about the app. Anyone else know something?
(Hope a clarified a few things too. That was the point of this post. ^.~)

Causes of death for eFX and SysMeter were different. eFX was sold long before it was popular, while SysMeter got a version two and was then abandoned when the whole of thiry4 moved out of Skindom.
