AHHH! Ok so I got a PM askin me to give him my mod of Nika to VS. If not then to explain how I ported it. Simple! If your VS has any fancy shmancy animations I don't know how to add throbber's to VS's but the rest is pretty easy. It's a real cheap way tho :p
How to get your start button the same: 1. Take a screenshot of your current windowsblinds theme or litestep theme. Take the current start button icon outta the screenshot (copy it making sure you have the perfect shape(like if it's a circle don't just get a square marquee, use the magic wand, the lasso tool, etc.). Put it into the first slot of the startbutton bitmap in stylebuilder. (by first slot you'll notice any visual style has 6 startbutton images in the bitmap. Cover the first one). Make sure the VS is similar, that way it looks ok
Step 2: hold you mouse over the start button but don't click. Screenshot, repeat above, BUT DON'T COVER THE FIRST SLOT!!! Cover the second :D.
Step 3: Click down the start button and don't let go, screenshot. Put into third slot... laa dee daa. Put the pressed down into the fourth slot too.
Step 4: Finish on the start button by putting slot 2's icon into slot 4, and slot 1's into 6 :D BOOM!
Caption Bar's Minimize, maximize, and close: Just repeat the above, you'll notice that the bitmaps have several shots of the icons in action, just repeat with the steps of the windowsblinds theme you currently have.
Colorizing the bars and such: HUH?!! Are we STILL gonna be working off screenshots? yeah. Just get the dropper tool and dropper the color from the screenshot, that tells you the hexcolor code and also teh other code(forgot the name)
Then go to the colorsections of stylebuilder(such as the expand and hide button of a theme, colorize it as you please :D.
That's a REAL cheap way for you low tech guys out there. A lotta people dunno how to make themes from scratch (which is practically what all good ports are) but this'll get you by for less effort and coding knowledge :D
welll theconcept I'm tellin for personal modding ONLY! You guys who do this, DO NOT RELEASE THE THEME! First of all it's a monstrous thing to do, don't. Secondly, it'll never be the professional quality, the higher end users here at custo will hate it :p and you :p and call you a noob :p (kidding on that last one) but you will get flamed slightly. Lastly, you'll need permissions from BOTH VS creators. Now if Areao4 were my child, or Mire, I personally wouldn't let the devil spawn frankenstein monster offspring of my work proliferate :D
Take a screenshot of all the startbutton in all its states (pressed, normal, etc) Use the lasso or magic wand tool, cut it out and stick it in your vs. i guess same goes for the caption buttons
