its sad to see where custo is going i allways thought tha customize.org is all about customizing and showing all the hard work u laid in to your screen making it look good. sad ppl sad !! maby its nothing to cry about the rank but judge your self whats screen is more customized !
the staff rank is based on one person. what their mood is at the time, what they consider a stylish vs, what they believe is worthy of a high rank, what they consider original and what they basically consider as 'good' customisation all comes down to opinion. and that's one opinion. so you will not get 100% consistency across all staff ranks.
to me the public rank matters more, since it's more the opinion of many people more than one.
1.- we are admins, we can not change the way that custo works, since we are not the webmasters 2.- the ranks are needed specially for the wallpapers, if we dont rank'em they wont show in the mainpage 3.- i understand your feelings about the rank... i was a normal member like the 98% of custo (heh, i was talkin with angel about this last night), i have lot's of low ranks, but YOU are not a number, if you are happy with wath you made is the only that really matters (or well... only if you have low self steem then you could get really pissed off watching a 45 of rank when you think that you desserves a 156.00 of rank), i'm not saying that for you, i'm just speaking generally. 4.- I prefer Map Quest. 5.- damn all you fuckers, come and huge me, i'm the beloved admin yep yep.

Well, pep's shot should at least be featured, i have not seen so many people give 100's to a shot in a long time, or even so many people bother to to comment on a shot. So, whatever the admin thought, the community obviously think's it's great.
indeed, but you know about the at least 24 hrs thing tab, and there are some good things in the queue to be featured (i.e. http://www.customize.org/details/46055), and like my grand ma said: "there is more time than life".
By the way, the whole rankin is just made by max & me, since bin has probs with his internet and wynton has some personal situations, and well, many of you could agree that i allways try to hear the custo majorty and some advises, problems, blah blah blah of any user.
I really try my best, and for free :P, sometimes i offer my help to those who doesnt ask for and give links, resources, news, i try to make some contests and try to keep this as a community, and well i'd never ask for a big thank you or you are doing well, or bad or "you can do this better if you do...", some of you help me with some hints (specially you tab, senex and other former admins and lots of users) but well, i'm just a human and my time is not 100% for customize.org, i have another thing to do, but i'm happy to offer whatever i can do for this community, no matter if it is noticed or not, or how little it could be, i do it coz i like it and i want to.

Here's a hint. I remember the summer of 2002, when this site was really alive, dozens of cool subs a day, people were into cool stuff and trying new things.
If you could get 1/10 of that energy and community back into the gulag that is now customize.org, I'd be impressed. I could venture an opinion as to why and how it happened and why it went away, because at the time I was as involved here as anyone, but it might involve *gasp* criticism of people. Not allowed these days.
Such an old topic, why is this being brought up for the 1000000th time. All you guys have to do is take time, make some killer skins for all to use and dance gayly through some fucking meadows.
Only then will all be well. When good stuff is released, people become happy.
Fuck the admin ranks, they're useless. I dont even glance at them when i sub any work. Personally i could care less if the person who ranked it liked it, what im concerned about is if it pleased the overall majority.
Appeal to the masses, not a single person. You'll keep your sanity.
