hi. last week I bought a notebook, a toshiba m70-253cd, quite a good deal for price/quality. apart from the dificulties found in changing the OS, I noticed there are a lot of useless processes down in task manager, like: zoominghook.exe tctrliohook.exe tpsmain.exe.... ...and so on.
I wanted to ask which is the safest way to make windows not loading them anymore. I tried to do something like that on my home pc, .RARring the .exe files, but I remember in the registry there are some parameters that control this. the problem is I do not remember where :-D...
Or.. has anyone other proposal to get rid of this useless stuff?
Get another copy of Windows XP, then wipe the HDD and reinstall Windows XP to how you want it without all the extra software that comes with a toshiba or a brand name laptop.
problem solved, thank you all. amp. I tried with my uncle's MSDN XP pro copy but I couldn't complete the install. It was such a weird thing to me so I tried more than a single time. Nothing worked. It's strange: when I used the CD packed with the pc a "win98 booting" row came up on my screen. :-| Don't know if this is a new method from preventing people getting pcs with xp home and then installing xp pro...
