Sharing a Scanner over LAN or WAN

Aphaits says:

obviously there are a few softwares in the internet to do that,
but I use my scanner directly inside photoshop.
is there a way (or unpreferably a software) to share a scanner over a network but straight from photoshop similar to network printing from photoshop?

thanks for any tips or software recommendations you can give me :)

My canoscan lets me pick a network shared folder as the default save location, if you want it to, Is that what you want to do?

See if hamachi does what you are looking for.

We (vision) use it to play LAN games

I don't think hamachi supports scanner sharing
I know there are several models of network scanner out there by HP, but mine is an old Canoscan.

pinkwings, the default save location is a nifty idea, but with multiple users and unstable wireless shared folders (which I have no idea why shared folders kept popping in and out) I'd like to try a more direct option.

there's always one program called remote-scan frequently popping from google searches, but forking 50 bucks for it sounds iffy :P
