so, uh. it's been mentioned before, but should something be implemented to minimize like/love abuse? especially loving your own work. just throwin' it out there.
The whole thing is fixed and over with, no more need to discuss it. It was a mistake on my part, and I fixed it. As for JD13 I didn't influence him in anyway to "love" my work, but was able to get him to remove most of the favorites and only keep the ones he actually loves. Hopefully, the love/like system will be changed and everything will be dandy.
i can relate w ego, i think i've loved one of my own works, but thats it...it was for a similar reason, i just really enjoyed the particular setup i presented in the screenshot and felt like i should give myself a pat on the back for coming up with something attractive during my Neanderthal-esque keyboard beating sessions.
as far as my 2 cents, i doubt this all will cause any major issues. howevver, the concept of users creating foreign, one-time use accounts really bums me out when considering the rules for the next screenshot contest...
It's pretty obvious that jd13 account was a shill and Willy had at least some control over it, because literally seconds after he I privately suggested to Willy that that account undo what it did it started happening. So we had was Willy trying to spin hard out of what he's realized is a very bad situation for him but still unwilling to admit he knew full well what was going on. Once again, assuming we are stupid.
So he did the right thing, almost. That account is till here to love and shill for Willy; indeed that's all it's ever done and all it's still doing. It would be nice if he would go all the way and tell the truth, but he's 95% fixed the problem now, so I'll at least give him credit for that. 95% fixed is better than nothing and he did it all of his own accord,m without anyone from the site fixing or banning, which is great. Would he have fixed it if he hadn't gotten caught? Probably not. The JD13 account should probably be whacked.
So it's mostly fixed, now it's up to you to judge Willy as a person because of it. I'll personally give him the benefit of the doubt, even though I still think he hasn't been very honest.
