i've been wanting to try thunderbird for a little while now, but i dont know how i fix it. "is hotmail.com pop or imap?" is my most important question. and what's the address? (pop.hotmail.com etc.) anyone knows?
The free service of Hotmail is web based only. You can't use it with Thunderbird unless you use the Premium service.
If you want to try it out, the simplest soultion is probably to sign up for a Google Account.
I can't recommend Thunderbird anyway - I often need to browse while writing emails, and running two huge applications for that is unnecessary (assuming FF/TB). If you need a calendar as well, maybe you might find it useful.
