In the process of hacking up cmd.exe. Is there anyway of adding more fonts to the list to use. At the moment there is a choice between raster fonts and Lucida Console??

I seem to remember something about a website called "www.google.com" which can search the internet!

Its really neat when your trying to find information.

I found this thread: http://www.tobiasjung.net/itaforum/showthread.php?fid=25&tid

after I "googled" (its internet/pop-culture slang for running a google search) "cmd fonts"

I suggest you try google for your future queries too :) (its probably faster too)

I saw that already; it's no use as it only applies to other version of windows and not xp.

This is a really simple thing, and I've linked you to WinT before. So here comes the sarcasm..

And here's a wild thought... maybe... thought of... oh I dunno. Googling for a cmd replacement. 'Cause then you could lazily prettify it with any font or thing you want.

The WinT site doesn't tell you about adding fonts.

"I use "Lucida Console" as my font. Unfortunately, we haven't found a way to use other fonts (yet)."

you could uninstall lucida console and rename another font to lucida. should work.

It's ok. I have it sorted now. Watch out for it in my next screenshot as well as some other amazing hacks from WinT

I don't see why you'd want to hack cmd when there are a highly customizable replacements out there.

Try Console: http://sourceforge.net/projects/console/

This tutorial shows you how to add more TrueType fonts to the list of available fonts for cmd.exe; apparently, the available fonts' listing is nothing more than just a list stored deep in Windows' Registry. I came across this a while back and used it to add Bitstream Vera Sans to the list of fonts on my cmd.exe.
