Actually, the "new economy" is GAIA Dollars. You earn more GD (GAIA-Dollars) when you recieve more likes/loves on your GAIA submissions. Later, when you gathered enough GD, you can buy customize.org t-shirts. And the first one to get enough t-shirts to form the word "GAIA", and then take a picture of it, will win $8000 (in GD).
