Here's a question for you Swedes out there...
What is the proper pronunciation of the Swedish village named "Getinge"? Is it just how it looks in English? Is the second 'g' hard or soft?

the first "g" is pronounced like a "j" and the second "g" is soft.

Unless you're trying to pronounce somewhat like "(Jet Eng)" as in Jet Engine.

one more thing (damn, it's hard to explain pronounciation things).
it's not JET as in jet engine as hope04 said, it's a longer pronounciation, not a "short" "e".
man, did that make any sense? i think i even lost myself. it's really hard to explain. hope i gave you some hints :)

Yeah, swedish has absolutely no logic in its grammar whatsoever... At least it's not harder than danish though.
