Data Execution Prevention

SunMoonStar says:

I had to reinstall Windows last night because every program opened (and explorer windows too) would close and give me a "Data Prevention Execution" window. Apparently when windows sees that a program is trying to access memory that only windows should have access to, it starts to give those errors.
Lucky me, I backed up all my stuff (and my LS theme that I'm working on too!:)
Now I have reinstalled windows and I starting installing stuff again, and got to installing Findexer. Verision 1.0 works but it won't load Findexer by default on every window, so I tried the latest nightly build. Lo and behold, I got a "Windows Data Execution Prevention" window again. So I promptly removed it.

I post this for 2 reasons:
1. Does anyone else have this problem?
2. To tell you that if you have Data Execution Prevention problems and don't know why, if you have Findexer installed, it's probably why (or seems so).

Maybe you need to disable Windows File Protection.

its possible to make an exception for findexer?
and then again, what if it is bad thing that findexer is using this memory that is so-called reserved only for windows
after having to reinstall windows for the 2nd time in a month im getting a little weary of these addons >_<

Findexer was after my time on XP, so I really can't speak on any of that.

Pyro_: WFP has nothing to do with DEP. WFP checks files, DEP checks what's running in memory.

DEP usually does more bad than it does good. Just disable it. Any old Anti-virus will detect any wrong-doings way before it reaches a stage where DEP'll do any good.
