The only feeling that comes to mind is when you were five years old, and you had that favorite toy that you took everywhere with you, and one day it just dissapeared and would never be seen again.
What's odd is that you can download torrents from mininova and thepiratebay.org that use demonoid as their tracker/scraper and they still work. The tracker isn't fully down. :D
I have downloaded several music torrents since the site died a few hours ago and all the trackers were the same, demonoid.
Just in case aany of you didn't know this: First, as soon as the site shut down, the world asploded into a state of panic, after THIS message was posted on demonoid.com, after a letter was sent to them by the CRIA.
Soon after, it was discovered the trackers were still working, but the actual site - demonoid.com - was not. The Demonoid irc channel topic was changed to: "Site is down, tracker is up. Expect the site to return, unless we hear otherwise from Deimos"
Let's hope TPB will help Demonoid get some servers in their server farm.
"A wise decision, especially since we now know that filesharing has absolutely no impact on music sales. On the contrary, a recent study found that the more music people download on P2P-networks, the more CDs they buy."
"The Canadian police announced that it will stop targeting people who download copyrighted material for personal use. Their priority will be to focus on organized crime and copyright theft that affects the health and safety of consumers instead of the cash flow of large corporations."
I declare this as a win (at least for Canadian) fliesharing. Fuck the RIAA.
