does anyone else think it would be fun to have a top of 2007 for customize? Like a poll for different sections, like screenshots, wallpapers, themes, etc? Or nominate and then vote? Just throwing it out there. I don't know how do-able that is.

I don't think we could get something really organized in two weeks, it seems that's not our strong suit. But I do think it'd be a fun idea, tops of the year are always good.
We should have a custo "awards" ceremony, with awards like best shot, biggest nuisance (we all know who would win that), best ls, etc., culminating in the most prestigious award: member of the year, for all the contributions they've done for the goodness of the site.
knowing our speed (e.g. turtle-ish), two weeks seems too short a time. but yieah, love this idea. custo oscars. yarr!!
maybe have everyone submit their top 3 faves in each category, tally those up, then reveal the top 3 (5?, 10?) winners in each category throughout an all-night vigil.

WRONG. It's still in its infancy, and gaia has way more skins and themes to accompany it. Not to mention the fact that it was a community effort. When I described it as "best" I didnt mean only in the sense of looks, I also meant in how many people got involved and the overall success there was in incorporating all of the skins and getting everyone (mostly) to contribute and really get involved in such a big project. In that respect, its no contest.
OK, what I think is that both gaia and sandwich were not as great as I expected. You guys are just going mainstream with what everyone else thinks is cool, but some, in their hearts, don't like it that much. They've been forced to love something they don't love. How can this be true? Everyone thinks gaia and sandwich are the sexiest things ever, but I don't. Try including the "indie" suites, will you?

I'm pretty certain all works listed here are artistic creations outside the commercial mainstream, without the support of a major record label, major movie studio, or other source of a large budget. Everyone who posts here does it for the joy of sharing their creations with the community.

Pick one favorite from each catagory so when you post, it will only be 7 from each person and go from there, just my take on this.

Any of these can have runners-up being honored in the awards, if during the voting someone else gets a substantial non-winning number of votes.
starting to think it's a bad idea in the first place, it's only going to breed negativity. i don't think there's anything wrong with showcasing a couple of your favorites for the year, but custo shouldn't be competitive.
custo is competitive, lol. Otherwise, there wouldnt be such options as love and likes, or popular. If its not to be competitive then there should only be comments and nothing that shows what people like the most. On that note, I think that the popular for each section tells the winners already, so its really no need for this, no matter the year.
how about this: IF you would like, post your favorite subs from your personal 'loves' and 'likes', making sure they were subbed this year. you can constrain it to a single category, or go all over the board, no matter. i think the op would be pleased and it's a good way to remember the year.
