Alright. We have a new section this year. As you can see on the website mockups we are going to invent an articles and interview section. I am going to interview Archain Nair - an indian based graphics designer and Alejandro Ghersi - an venezualian musician.
If somebody knows a well known person and has ideas for questions for him or her how to be more eco friendly let me know!
I could write an article on how conserving energy can have a big impact on the environment. Are there any parameters that have to be met on the article (length, content, citing sources, etc?)
Well, that would be real great. If you could find an adress we should talk to him. Around 40.000 People visited the last exhibition so it might be interesting for him.
We could try emailing info@carthagegroup.com (listed on algore.com, his website dedicated to global warming), which is for "scheduling requests". They probably won't care for us, though.
This also got me thinking about advertising for GAIA, if we need it. I could contact publications like TIME/NYTimes/Popular Science or something... (If someone wants to contact non-U.S. press too that'd be great) I mean, we probably won't get an article, but who knows? Climate change is a big deal right now. Just a thought.
But the customizing scene is so small. Although if we stress the global warming part of the site more, then it's probably more likely to get people to come through press ads. The installer also has to be easy, so your everyday person can fully enjoy GAIA, thus expanding the types of people who come.
Oh, and guys, I think we'd do well to contact Lifehacker about this. They love featuring mediocre desks of their users, so I reckon a sexy suite, a community and a global-warming awareness project would be something they'd really be interested in. If nobody else will do it, I'll contact them. I think it's tips@lifehacker.com, but check first, obviously.
