Downloading XP Theme Files

I'm a new user here and I am having a slight problem with opening my downloaded files for the XP customized themes. The file appears as unknown and does not have direction in which program to be used. I was wondering if there is any new zip file programs or anything other required in order to open the file. Currently, I have WinRAR. Any suggestions will be of great help =]
