does anyone know how to bypass the .exe OPEN SAVE CANCLE prompt question that pops up when a link to .exe is clicked from internet explorer. i heard there was a way. if you dont understand heres an exaple..when you download a zip u either get asked to open it save it or cancel and tehre is an option for automatic action so you dont have to save it u can automaticlly run it. but this is not a case if you are downloading an .exe from the web. i was wonderin if any of yu know how to bypass this. i know its a bad thing to have but i need it for my desktop cause im using activedesktop atm

from iexplore6:

"The 'Always ask before opening this type of file' check box is not available for some file types, such as files with the extensions .exe or .com, which run programs or commands."

theres probabley a way, but its also likley that its not gonna be easy, knowing micro$haft.

also, found under security settings for iexplore;

Launching Program Files in an IFRAME --> Default is 'prompt.'

perhaps this has something to do with it?

i ran the patch with the nifty install. the second modified one wouldnt import to my win2k registry..weird.reg file. then i just added "run:" to all my paths inside the flash movie. i still gotta make the flash movies user-friendly so they use external .txt files so ppl can modife them outside the flash. it's gonna make flash a damn fine app launcher. i will also take into consideration ppl wth slow pc's and not overload the movies.

Yeah cool installer now, didn't notice before (removed the useless regfiles). So you will release your flash taskbar, really nice.

dude! i just barely managed to get a computer that finally ran all my stuff cleanly and now shinter (no less) is himself making one in flash . . .

excuse while i put my poor cpu out of it's misery, it's whimpering in the corner

and it's not just windows too. they wrote a full WM in perl with which i can slaughter my poor linux partition too
