Emoticons On Custo?

If they're gonna add emoticons, they might as well add intrasite messaging capabilities similar to Deskmod. That would facilitate a lot of interaction between the users of this fine site.

Emoticons suck. I think of the damn smilies in the text and the artists' gifs on DevArt. They are not funny, they are foolish and senseless. The ones on DevArt are not funny because some sites with 30 comments have never-ending loading periods. So the site is brought to you in a mere 45 seconds. Just remember that there are the Europeans that only have ISDN, or even worse only a 56K modem. I think these "funny" emoticons can appear on the personal site of the artist on custo but not in the texts and comments on the site.

Emoticons are foolish and senseless? Well that's your opinion. I'm on a 56k modem, in Europe, and they don't bother me. How about if they came to Custo, there would be an option to switch them on or off? Would that suit you?

we dont need emoticons.. what would be cool however is a small little pic next to each post we make.. that would be killer.

Emotes are a bad idea. I'm with Max, though, avatars (50x50 with maybe a 5k filesize cap) would be nice. If they could be implemented tastefully. Or whatever.
