he just gave his comments, he did'nt even rate you.. what are you saying that we should *CENSOR* his or anyone else's reviews about your work?.. only thing that gets touched by the admins are the spiteful & malicious 1's that people give to each other.
So learn to take the good criticism as well as the bad. There will be a feature soon to not recieve comments at all so hang in there for now guy, sorry.

i agree with max, i really don't care if my work is not liked by all. if people want to criticise the work that is ok as long as the comments are not personally abusive.
"ok? so now what? is this supposed to impress me?"
"it was good till i read your comments. now i hate it. your so fake."
"hey everyone! look at the civic lemming. don't you have anything better to do than to drool over the mods you did to mommy's car?"
its nothing personal, but i think people like that should be banned. if every single review they make is like that, why should they be allowed to stay?
technical nitpicking, this is private property and therefore not censorship. it would still be moderation and us imposing a way of thinking, but it's not technically censorship
not that it matters really, it's just that he put it in all caps with stars around it. carry on
nitpicking the nitpicker.. i doubt that lamp and revird want a total one sided view where people were unable to express thier views and to everyone go with the majority view points type thing.
So even though it is private property why go the route of trying to impose yourself or your own views against that of someone else's as long as it does'nt cross a few lines then I dont see your point about it not being censorship to remove a comment, that does not cross the lines or as spiteful rating of 1.

Any sort of CENSORHIP would kinda defeat the purpose of CUSTO, and the internet in general.
BuzzF, you need to learn to grow up and just take it like a man. G-d knows that I've been dumped on before, but that's just part of life. If ya don't like negative critisism you should not post your stuff here, or simply ignore the "bad" comments.
My shidoshi (aiki-jutsu teacher) told me this:
"In order for an insult to harm you, you must first respect the source of the insult
Just try and lighten up and enjoy CUSTO, afterall it's such a beautiful place to be, and most of the folks here are awesome!
Just let the moderators do their job. And besides, how can someone bitch about a great site like this when it's FREE
"Freedom baby...yeah!" -- Austin Powers
"That which does not kill you only makes you stronger." ---Friedrich Nietzsche
Harper, If you bothered to read my reply at the beginning of this thread, you will have read that I don't care whether i'm critisised, this thread is not about that!
I'm talking about how theres no point just flaming someone's work by just blatently insulting them! Give them feedback as to why you didn't like it and how it can be improved.
Learn to read a thread properly before you start blurting out your misinformed opinion!
BuzzF... Harper was right, so listen to him. There have always been and probably always will be trolls at custo, but all u have to do is ignore them. What your doing is what they want you to do. They want you to get upset and make posts. They want the attention, otherwise they would do the things they do.
Maybe the reason Harper didnt "read a thread properly" is because nobody likes to hear complaining...
Sorry, we reserve the right to remove arrogant, rude, and beligerant comments. This was made clear in a message thread two weeks ago when this took into effect. If you don't like it, then be nicer with your comments. And if you still don't like it, too bad.
3 different degrees of antipathy towards a work.....none of them are particularly illuminating [except to show how primitive the commenter is, evolution-wise]...but only one of them is 'appropriate' as a comment on a work, the other two are personal attacks which would be more appropriately dealt with by their removal.
And, as miriku said, being a 'private' site, it's not 'Censorship', it's site 'Policy'.
Dickhead comments will just attract more dickheads...;)
if there is a club, i'm all for freedom of speech in it. but if you go around and act like a screw up, insult everyone, push people around and whatnot dont be surprised if security kicks you out.
none of his comments were absolutely terrible, but most all of them we can agree were done for the sheer purpose of being an ass. i dont feel bad for them being gone
But GJ rkenshin, some people are saying that is what Custo is all about, but really, its about posting your work to share with others - and possibly be graded. If you want to insult people, go to an AOL chat room, or play Counter-Strike.
Constructive critisism is the shit we want, not some unresourceful flaming. If one were to post up requesting additional help with it, and all he gets is "what the fuck is this lump of shit, am I supposed to put this on my desktop?" then it obviously wont help. Instead, help the person. "Change that, maybe to this" Its a win / win situation when everyone is happy.
posting something like "this is horrible, what is this shit?", is not what this place should be about. criticism is fine but, if u dont like a work, say why, leave some info. simply telling someone the suck doesnt help anyone.
yeh, well i've personally talked to lamplighter and wraybling about the subject of trolls and there are a couple of ideas kicking around for some sort of system for dealing with stuff like this.
Personally i've taken a liking to how slashdot has set up their moderation system with a tiered veiwing system. I dunno how other's feel about it, since i really haven't asked anyone else :)
so, what do other people think of slashdot's alternative to moderation?
I talked to lamplighter on AIM about a WARN feature, that admins could use. It would put a link like [WARN] next to the persons name on every comment, forrum post, etc that they made. Once clicked it could change to [WARNED], but only on that post. That would make it so two admins couldn't accidentally warn the same person for the same comment. An alert/email would be sent, with a transcript of the violation. 3 warnings and it's a weeks banning. get three more after that, it's 2 weeks. Then 4 weeks, then 8, etc. If you like the idea, or think it could be better, please post.
I think every custo user should have their monitor outfitted with a mechanical arm holding a very tall cream pie of some sort. When you act up I simply press a button and the arm just slams the pie into your face, clogging all facial orfices and breaking eyeglasses when applicable. How hard would this be to code into the site? Could we get it done by, oh, today? Let me know. Thanks.
I don't want miriku coming down my chimney, he's scary. I'd probably crap my pants, and he'd be like "Relax, I'm here to replace your pie, where do you keep it? I'm the pie man!"
You know now that I think of it why can't we eat the pie when Miriku replaces it with a fresh one, it would be like a treat for not getting in trouble all day.
You'd have to limit the pies you ate, if you got too fat to fit down the chimney you wouldn't make a good pie man. Plus, if you're a pieman you have to watch out for crazy people like me hiding waiting for the pieman to beat him up and take his pies and stuff.
