hey, did anyone see the comercial with the new gateway? It kinda rips off the the new imac. Ya know slim interface... Its faster, more space... yet cheaper... at the end the computer sticks its cd-rom drive(tongue) at the imac. (i really don't like mac as much as some[no windows isn't my fav either] it made me laugh a little) Has anyone gotten one - is it any good/cool?
.compo the day i laern to spel is the day jennifer lopez cann act [.peace]
speaking or ripping off mac, i recently saw a comercial for george forman grills that had a couple different grills with different colored transparent glass things(?) on them. and they were in a cirlce and spinning, i thought it was an imac commercial at first.
there are a lot of things that have that look....you can buy cd players, boom boxes, tvs, just about anything with those "colored transparent glass things" on them. Why you would want you George Forman grill to be purple and clear....I dont know.
i have had several gateways in my illustrious career. no MAJOR problems as of yet, comparable to dell i'd say. not that that's a good thing. i don't know. all computer manufacturers seem to skimp on the uninteresting parts most people don't know or care about, like mbs, hdds, etc but they will stuff the hip stuff in and throw out the name, like vid cards, cpu, etc. i've found if you have the time it's better to just build your own and get everything like you want it. and back to the topic: all in ones (imac, emac, this gateway doody) arte waste of time for folks like us, because we're the types to upgrade, and you just can't do much to those machines 'cept add more RAM.
ah but not much can compare to the amount of experience and knowledge you get when you build your own comp from scratch. when i built my comp i learned quite a bit.. and much of that knowledge helped me later on during the times when i would mess up my OS or accidentally have two pieces of hardware on the same IRQ and things like that.
pretty much the only thing that taught me more about computers was the A+ certification class i took 2 years ago.
so anyway... not to preach or sound stuck up or anything, but if you wanna get a lot of good experience, i say build your own :)
Speaking of getting a ton more for a lot less, I'm getting a Radeon 9000 128mb DDR memory, all for just 150 dollars Canadian (thats about 95 bucks american)
The george foreman "mac" grill is for all those lazy mac assholes (such as my english teacher) who wont get off their asses to cook. so, its basically a computer-and-george-foreman-grill center. ----- Rate:
