Oldest school: Pac-Man, Galaga, Ninja Gaiden Old school: Mario 3, Earthbound, Metroid, Super Metroid New school: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Tekken 4 :)
i wouldn't say these are the BEST games, but definitely my favorites:
super metroid yoshi's island frogger (original) half-life (all of em) zelda64 warcraft II and starcraft final fantasy 7 and 10 gta3 starfox super mario 3, super mario world, sm64
lol mercurixx your favorites and the best games in your opinion are different? isnt that the definition of "favorite"? :D i loved super street fighter 2 and warcraft 2
nah for me when you say "best" you're taking into account many more aspects... like production quality, story, depth, length, bla bla bla... and when you're basing your list on that, it's impossible to say "these are the best games" unless youve played every single game ever. of course thats just my opinion ;)
Maybe someone should tell these people with Counter-Strike on their lists, that it's a MOD and not an actual game. As for my list:
1.) Xenogears 2.) Chrono Trigger 3.) Final Fantasy 6 & 7 4.) Half-Life 5.) Grand Theft Auto 3 & Vice City 6.) Starcraft 7.) Diablo 1&2 8.) Gran Tourismo 3 9.) Elder Scrolls: Morrowind 10.) Warcraft 2 & 3
Yes I know I'm biased towards Blizzard and Squaresoft games, but it's really hard not to like the companies that affect the stock market whenever they release a game ;)
Oldest school: Ninja Gaiden, Contra, Tecmo Bowl and the Original Legend of Zelda Old school: 007 Goldeneye (above), zelda64 New school: Half Life, Counter Strike (easily) MGS2 GTA 3 and VC. the list goes on and on for new stuff.
everyone with at least half a brain knows the best game ever is shaq fu. come on, we all know that game was the best game ever, hands down. and that wu-tang: shaolin style, well hot damn! that's some hot shit.
Tetris. you can just keep on playing to for ever, and not get tired of the game. Back in the day, my dad took extra long poos playing tetris for the brick game boy. runner up: SimCity 2000, Mario 64, Earthbound
" Old school: 007 Goldeneye (above), zelda64 New school: Half Life," errr.... What? golden eye came out in '97, and so did HL.... soo how can one be old school, and one be new school? And zelda 64 came out in '98? you make no sence.
FF series is the best series that came out. It's not that i don't like the other products that squaresoft makes but i rather play FF than like Xenogears or Chrono Cross (also some good games). FF has the best storylines and a large variety of Enemies to fight. I especially like the challenge of getting the final weapon or summon (aeon).
Well of CounterStrike. What can I say that has not been said already. CS can safely be said to be one of the best online games for the PC. It is a game you don't really get bored of you know. Of course once in a while you would want to play something else but most of us probably go back to it after a week or so. It is a just a great game. Period.
Never knew wanting something can be that hard....But itz better to want something , than not able to want it....
Can't believe how many times I beat it on the GameBoy...Ahhh...the classics...
and to add to my list...
The Sims (come on...you're god, and get to watch all the little people burn their house down) Frogger (original - I loved that game sooooo much) Sonic the Hedgehog - you have to admit, that blue spiky blur rocked the Sega Icewind Dale 2 Diablo 2 - Lord of Destruction - I am so addicted to this game...I got a Lv 44 Assasin, who rocks ass!
Ainan don't make me come over there and whup yo ass!
1)STARCRAFT:BROODWARS (greatest game ever.. still as good and popular as it was when it first came out) 2)GOLDENEYE for N64 (well it was good when it came out at least.. predecessor to CS, which is not too great and popular now IMO...)
Don't be a player hater! Be an intramural participater!
Final Fantasy series (in particular 6, 7, and 8) Metroid Series (Prime is ungodly fun) Wolfenstein 3d(introduction of first person shooters) Half-life(just because it changed the face of pc gaming with the mainstream introduction of Mods) Breath of fire 2(one of the best rpgs) Secret of Mana(the playstation one sucked; I beat it in 2 days) Secret of Evermore There are too many. Games are my religion. they should make a religion called GAMISM or something. _senex "Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for an evening. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life."
you people must be some sort of retards, well at least the majority anyway, coz only about 2 people have said zelda the occarina of time on N64 clearly the best game known to man
I'm disappointed - nay, shocked and APPALLED - that only one other person has voted for Sonic. I think people say Tetris is the best game ever like people say Citizen Kane is the best movie ever - coz it's the done thing. Sonic gets my vote hands down. Suck it and see.
Tin of beans minus atom bomb equals a single bean. With no ketchup.
Platformer: Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario World RPG: Final Fantasy VII (there are a ton to list here). FPS: Unreal Tournament Sports: Tecmo Bowl Mindless: Diablo Strategy: Alpha Centauri
id have to say CS and call of duty, and numerous other new ones out, goldeney(which i just re-got for my bday) and operation flashpoint(its a modders game too, actually it was made almost entirely for modding)
Too bad you don't play The Matrix Online. They've already made a religion out of that game. It's called Matrixism: http://www.geocities.com/matrixism2069 . Well it's either a real religion or some sort of alternative reality game associated with MxO. Anyhoo, whatever it is it seems a lot more creative than The Jedi Religion: http://www.templeofthejediorder.org
I'm sure that if you give it some thought you can make a religion out of any of the games that you are into.
There's definitely not only one best game encompassing all, but here's a list of ones I like I remembered so far:
Final Fantasy (IIV, X) Command & Conquer (I, Red Alert) Diablo (I,II,IIexp) StarCraft WarCraft (I, II, IIexp, III) Mario Kart (old SNES) Anvil of Dawn (friggin DOS) :D Lufia (the oldest one I can remember) Breath of Fire (I,II,III, I think there's a IV) Legend of Zelda (the original) Max Payne (1, 2) Need for Speed (II, U, U2, MW, C) Unreal Tournament (2k4) Theme Hospital The Sims (1,2) Half-Life (1, 2) Counter-Strike (classic, source) Bishi-Bashi (button-mashing fun)
haha yeh I was wondering how the heck you come across one this old =) at first I thought half of custo had some serious issues seen as they all still thought CS was 'hot' news
SNES: super mario kart, final fantasy 3 (japanese ff6), all bomberman, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.
SEGA: All Sonic the Hedgehog, road rash 3 (still remember cheat code for best bike lol)
PLAYSTATION: Final Fantasy 7, Wipeout, loaded, twisted metal1/2
N64: Killer Instinct Gold, Goldeneye007, Quake2 (single player sucks, multiplayer OWNS, still remember cheat codes lol)
COMPUTER: Quake1(and Quake team fortress), Blood, Everquest(played for 5 years...), World of Warcraft, Starcraft, Command and Conquer (tiberian sun sucks), Counterstrike
extremely oldschool games i had on my mac: Escape velocity, Loadrunner
I've been a gamer for a long time, and the list of games that I love is extensive to say the least-- but my favorite game of all time is still Tim Schafer's Grim Fandango.
Super Mario Land Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap Super Mario Kart Metal Gear Solid Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Mario And Luigi Superstar Saga Zelda: The Minish Cup Devil May 1 and 3 Rayman Wario Ware Mystic Quest SNES & GB Versions The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening Ridge Racer Type 4 Wipeout 2097
