gone, when admins don't rated sometimes the art is gone, why I don't know. Maybe because It will not be rated anymore. Already happent to me 2 times for one wall.
Wallpapers are deleted from the site in the event that they're of poor quality, or they violate the Customize.org terms and conditions in some way. The Customize.org administration reserves the right to remove any submission for any reason.
i think its good, i worked hard, it wasnt just some slap ass job...and im sick of the emails saying the reason it was deleted is because it is not useable, i dont know whether thats some form of being a smartass or just being too dumb and not caring to give a real reason, try to tell me what we did wrong in our walls next time instead of just deleting, ive only had 2 walls deleted both by the same person, both my last two and i want to know why
...But your father owns half of Florida. How are you part of the working class? - Maurice Chavez
i think there should be a very detailed explanitory e-mail sent to whoever has a wallpaper deleted saying why and what could be done to fix the problem. and if it sux, put up a poll for an hour to see other people's opinion of the wallpaper... based on that opinion, you should choose to keep it or delete it
Guys if you want to be notified when and if a sub is removed, please remember to add your email address to your profile. If is there is not an email address listed then no one can contact you to with an explanation.

Don't know ckyfish. You do sub alot, every other day or so, everyday sometimes.. Maybe trying to send a message about focusing on the quality. I think you're okay myself, but you have a lot more potential.....My advice to you is to begin your tour de force. You look to be in a rut. I don't think many people are interested in USING what you've been subbing. I'm not trying to be cruel here, being honest. And as far as sending a detailed message, that'd be nice, but that's an awful lot of work, and we are volunteers. I don't email anyone. If the reason I've deleted something is not apparent to the user, well, nothing I can say will help. It's hopeless. Fortunately I think a lot of people have accepted moderation as not a personal attack but something that helps the site. I was suprised to see this thread, actually.
My advice is to live with it and just do your best. If you work hard you'll get results. Sometimes you may get deleted. If your wall is up there with the best, and you'll know if it is, it'll stick.
Let's try not post these threads anymore. No matter who deleted your wall, email ME and I'll help you with any problems or just let you vent. You guys must accept moderation in order for this site to prosper. We are only skimming the cream off these days......There's 7000 walls here, do think folks want to wade through all that to find the decent work? We are raising our standards so in turn you must raise your own and do the work you know you're capable of.
it was my first wall and i work hard on it.. i thought it was pretty good. it didnt violate any copyrights or anything cuz i drew it myself. i have no idea why it would be deleted. should i just resubmit it?
how bout a "give this wall the boot" vote implemented via php or something... where if the wall receives 15 votes, it is deleted... just something along those lines. that would help, and would let the community help decide what's good, which should be done in the first place
problem with this is some idiots find it funny to create fake accounts and rate themselves with 100s on extremely terrible subs. In the long run that would not work.

Outsider, prople would probably abuse that feature pretty badly. To assure that people wern't making multiple accounts just to delete some enemys wall, you would need to impliment a feature that shows you who (or what IP) voted for the boot. That could lead to some pretty serious arguments/fights/brawls/flame wars.
just a question, but how many bad walls do you guys encounter each week (or day, if it makes the answer shorter)... and if it's becoming such a problem, why can't there be written standards for the walls?
As for deleted walls, I'm not an admin, but I'm here almost as much. I'd guesstimate between two and four a day. Then again, there may be even more that doesn't make it through the queue.
i dont think anyone wants to send out 4-6 emails everyday telling people why thier wall was deleted, the admins have other stuff to do. and also if your thing gets deleted, dont resub, thats just annoying and yes, it will just be deleted again.
Heh heh heh, I read the title of this thread and had visions of it being about paranormal activity, like a kind of evil labarynth thing!
Outsider500's idea's a good one, a vote for removal on the wallpaper review page, then say at 15 votes it alerts admins people don't like it so they can choose to delete it or not. It would help get rid of some of the old ones no-one likes too without you having to search yourselves.
I still think you should have a feature where as you delete it you can leave an explaination on the "Sorry, the skin (ID: xxxxx) was not found." page. So when the user find's it's gone they instantly know why. It might also help others understand what's considered deletable.
Wall moderation is a necessity of life. Most sites are now doing it. At Wincustomize.com we'd be kicking probably two thirds to three quarters of them....anything up to 15 or 20 a day at times.
'Skinning' sites...that is, sites not 'specifically' devoted to walls need to control the wallpaper size so it doesn't swamp the rest of the sections of the site, to their detriment.
Long ago, in a galaxy far away, at skinz.org, the first 'moderation' took place and you would have thought the sky had fallen...all the drama it created.
But....the Owners/admins have to keep band-width use under control or find other income or another way to handle 'growth'...so it's walls that usually 'suffer'...;)

Okay, I'm not going to let this devolve back into a "where'd my wall go?!?" thread. If you have been around here for the last few weeks, have even just read through this thread, or more importantly read the user submission agreement, you should know, even if you disagree. :: http://www.customize.org/submit/agreement ::
