I heartily advise those of you who are wallpaper artists to make the res at least 1280x1024, if not larger. In fact, when working in photoshop work as large as you possibly can....I work at 3200x2400, you'll be amazed how much more detail you can produce, and how nicley it all crisps up when you take it down. There's been some work subbed lately at very small res, we're talking eensy weeny. 640x480.
Folks, I'd say upwards 95% of the users of this site run at least 1024x768. Probably higher. Anything smaller is unlikely to be used. I know it's difficult to if you have an older monitor or vid card to work in higher res., but let's try to keep them above 1024 or above. I'd say 1600x1200 should be the standard.
I'd prefer 1280x1024, but the easiest thing to do with 3d renders and such is just render it in multiple resolutions and submit a zip file here...or just provide an outside link to a zip file and we'd all be happy.
Think of it this way, if you're running 640x480 then you probably won't be in a year or two and you'll find all those wonderful walls you made before are now almost unuseable if you only made low-res versions of them.
