I have SP1 installed and I want to replace the uxtheme.dll so I can run non microsoft themes.. victor said it was in 3 folders.. system32, dllcache, and a SP1 folder...does anybody know what it is?
I HATE sp1 I don't want to have to make a boot disk to use themes. i've been looking for 3 days now and nobody knows the third folder that windows keeps uxtheme.dll in I SWEAR soon as I have a question
That's all I needed. Thanks. I swear I'm gonna make my own tutorial because those idiot geeks who think they know about stuff and don't wanna ask questions post tutorials and the mess up your computer :/
Well guys seems I'm having a problem installing uxtheme.dll Ill start off with what I have accomplished so far. In the directory of C:\WINDOWS/System32/ and I dont have SP1. Also Ive heard a few people talking about installing it in dllcache?!! Am I suppose to have that because I even did a search and nothing came up. I am currently running Windows XP. Ok back to the beginning: I ran the .exe renamed it to uxtheme.dll and all that stuff. Then installed my themes and right-clicked my desktop went into themes and selected the theme I installed. But it cames out like windows classic except alot worse. If you could help me answer my problem I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

the way ive been switching themes is to just dble click the downloaded them (be sure its in the C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes dir **you might want to make seperate dirs for each one i had a bad experiance lol) hope that helps ______________ I'd like to put something witty here, but I'm just speechless.
