CS is a horrible example for realism based games, but I dig both. Both types offer intresting elements. Right now im playin a lot of BF1942. pretty nice game.

Yeah, they both are good. I enjoy RTCW and bf1942, but the FPS I've played the most is Tribes 2. I depends on your mood. Do you want to fly and hit a person w/ plasma or do you want to be in a dug out throwing a grenade and blowing up 3 guys?
mm i like realism...seeing the blood slpatter agains the door as i blast them one. and as some one who actually shoots guns its more fun. however flak cannons are awesome.
Either way, doesn't matter to me. I used to play CS, I used to play Quake, loved them both. But of the two, Quake-style games are a little preferable, mostly cause I loved the railgun :D

quake 3 and rocket arena running at 200+fps with fov's at 140, still cant be beaten for playability and pure fun. and the days of counterstike lost thier appeal after the mass influx of cheats just over 2 years ago.
The only realistic type of first person shooter is games like rainbow 6 and ghost recon...where one-two shots kills ya, or do you guys mean realism graphics wise vs gameplay wise? Cause I tell ya, cs isnt at all realistic gameplay wise... But than play some ghost recon, or rainbow 6, and you learn how its really done, slow first person shooters, but, a hell of a lot more realistic...
And unreal type games do blow, the only good unreal trype of game I like is Jedi Outcast 2... good game, fun sabre battles and shit...
dude jsuh, are you on fuckin crack???? 2k3 is the best non-played game out at the moment, and freakin pac man is better then counter strike. There is no comparrision

ut2k3 was a dissapointment. it's too hard to get really skilled and it's dominated by only elites. if you're looking for a game to play and just join a clan... there's no community, the same goes for cs, there happens to be no community other than PUBS for cs. Quake3 seems to have the most wide ranged community and also the biggest one and it's an outdated game, (yes even compared to cs)
unreal.. if im gonna paly shooting games.. not gonna waste my time shooting with a handgun or knifing some guy to death when in unreal.. just rocket them or bomb them to pieces.. easy and quick

I do allot of Q2'ing.. as for realism.. there isnt too many realistic shooting games (i have my reasons for saying so... ) anyways... ive play'd the R6 games (above average)... CS (horrible in my eyes)and a host of others... all i have to do is remember 1 thing.. its a game.. its for fun... screw realizm.. hehehe

Deathmatch Quake, any one of them. Been playing a lot of Quake 3 recently though. I never got on with the Counterstrike kind of games. Too much concentration on realism and not enough on fun for me.
