Opera is a really great web browser. It's quick, userfriendly and best of all, it's SKINABLE! I really think there should be a section here for Opera, after all there is ever one for KaZaa. =)
I tried phoenix, mozilla, and opera. Even though there's way too many features in opera, I prefer it over the other browsers. They should make a simpler version of opera though.
Agreeing with ds. Phoenix - Firebird - floats my boat.
"I don't want to talk to you, no more, you empty-headed animal, food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. You mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries."
Right now I use Mozilla mostly, but I will start using Firebird when it supports Flash, I can't seem to find the plug-in for firebird, for Flash. If anyone could hook me up that would be awesome.
I've tried Phoenix. One upside is that it's highly customizable. And just plain cool ;) But since I'm lazy I think I'll just stick with the most supported browser for now and not worry about having to find plug-ins and things of the sort..more often than not it proves to be a very arduous task.
co1e: explain to me how firebird doesnt support flash? it is a mozilla/netscape browser, so of course it supports flash. what exactly is the problem? and what os are you using? i think i understand what your problem is. if your using windows, you just need to get the registry patch that makes firebird the default browser and point to the firebird directory. then install the flash netscape plugin. the patch is linked in the firebird forums, just search for flash. ill see if i can find a link.
UnsightlyEvil, thanks for the links. I've been runnin Pheonix for a few days now (Firebird) and wasnt able to get any flash stuff runnin, and now it works like a charm, cool.
Bit annoying to have to do that, but works perfectly nontheless
: Nothing's better than takin a dump and checkin out some uber hardware...well...hacking into microsoft while dropping off the Cosby's might be better :
I use Opera, Phoenix, and Mozilla. Prefer Opera though. I love Windows but wouldn't use IE unless it's absolutely necessary which it hasn't been for six months now. I am forced to use an older computer due to the fact that I'm flat broke and Opera runs fastest and freezes least on it.
As far as putting Opera skins here. It's kind of uneeded. Opera has one of the most extensive, easily navigated and frequently updated list of it's skins right on it's own site. New skins at least every couple of days.
i refuse to use IE except for cross-browser website tests now... ie is bloated and slow and its a M$ product... sure i use windows, but only so i can run the graphic programs i want. once WINE for linux is able to support most of the programs i want to run, ill be a full time linux user.
until then, opera it is.... although for linux, mozilla is a better choice because it has more options... opera 6.05 for linux is no good, imho.
haha "as an employee for Opera.." Just kiddang. Skins are nice in Opera, Phoenix, etc.. but i usually look at the content of the page instead of staring at the buttons!
KSG: A few weeks ago, because with the name 'Phoenix' they were in violation of copywrite. The name might end up being Firebird Browser instead of just Firebird.
Hmmmm, i tried mozilla but my website looked really strange and some things didn't even work. Opera had problems as well. Must have something to do with inline frames and dhtml effects created with frontpage. So my conclusion is that internet explores works best but mozilla looks a lot better and the e-mail program is very good aswell.
I think my conclusion from that would be that Microsoft, in all it's monopolistic glory, favour frontpage making pages that won't run properly on other browsers so you don't dump IE. Do the decent thing and make your pages compatible with all browsers by using a code-checker and notepad.

You know, i have to admit that calling a web browser Firebird or Phoenix doesn't really speak much for it's stability. I mean, it's named after a legendary creature that, every so often, dies in a rather spectacular way, and then spontaneously resurrects itself later.
how can microsoft copywrite the word 'windows' when windows have been around long before billy gates grandparents were born? yeah its not the same as firebird, but words like Zeus and probably god are copywritted.
hehe as for using firebird or phoenix, who cares? its a name. they probably like the concept of a firebird because of fires relation with speed, "thats on fire!". plus its a hot looken browser.
