my computer seems to disregard them now. i go into cmd.exe (window2000) typein say ping.exe and it won't run. i need to cd winnt\system32 furthermore i checked the environment variables in the sytem properties and Path is there with C:\Winnt\system32 and everything. any idea how i could fix this?
you could add c:\\winnt\\system32 into your Path bit in your autoexec.bat. e.g. Path = C:\\;C:\\Winnt;C:\\Winnt\\System32 I think that syntax is right... been a long time since I used it though.
