Wonkus, it has little to do w/ that one bad rating. I don't cry over spilled milk. I just have an issue with the rating system itself and the lack of constructive criticism around here. :::
I think the job of rating or voting should solely rely on the public. After all, they're the ones making use of these wallpapers and skins. That final rating from the staff member doesn't reflect what the public sees, but rather their own personal opinion. And each one is different. :::
Finally most comments I read on here are so irrellevant and immature, you wonder how old these people are. And when they have something bad to say, they can't back it up. i.e..."I don't like it" or "Something's missing"...Well tell the person what you don't like and what you'd recommend him do to improve it. Don't just tell him that his work says w/out saying why. :::

Showing that he actually came back to look at people's replies, karah, he was vying for attention. If he didn't come back to check, he would've been doing what he said he was doing and just leaving. if you read the tone of his first post. He's almost trying to slap customize's community. I think 100 should be be reserved for if ever the perfect design piece is created, because if you don't reserve it what you gonna give it when it does show up to make it better than the others you've rated?
Funny how cusromize.org is virtually the ONLY place where if a submission is subpar, people actually tell you. I surf around deviantart regularly. It's a good place to post your work - an alternative download area, if you will. But that's about it. Everyone is so deliriously happy and agreeable there. Which of course, does not bode well if you want to improve. Enjoy your circle-jerk.
When looking at a good piece of art on DA and then scrolling down to view comments you see 20-30 comments in the form of "cool. +fav" and 1 or 2 that actually have complete sentences.
i don't think you can really judge DA and Custo.. cuz DA has over 1 million users. and this place has 30,000 + . at devart you can't say the ppl rate different and stuff, cuz your speaking for 1 million ppl.. here you are only speaking for about 50 actual members that log on everyday.
smoovy6 guess you prefer repetitive, monotone, unoriginal, such as: "OMFG THAT IS AWESOME", "OMG THAT IS GREAT", "OH GOD YOU ARE AMAZING +FAV!"
You tell people to tell you what they DON'T like, but when comments like the above are made you really don't bother to ask what they DO like.
I say a comment such as " something is missing" is definitely preferable over comments made on DevArt. And believe me, you will find immature people in every gfx community, no one is safe from those turds.

I dont see how you can think our rating system is a joke but you prefer devart's butt-kissing system, but whatever floats your boat. Here at custo if your work is great people will tell you so. If your work sucks people will tell you so. People here are not afraid to be honest. If you cant handle honesty and criticism, then DeviantArt is the perfect place for you. :)

Ah boo-hoo is right, you know how many bad reviews I got when I first started submitting? I posted one or two things on deviant art and I'd prefer to get flamed here then have to look at reviews like "cool!" "Sweet!" and "Nice!"
