kudos to placebo, im usually into something much heavier, but placebo have been rocking my world for about a week. no suggestions though, i dunno, try some massive attack, their always good for some mellow moods.
Mauro Picotto - Back To Cali, Iguana, Komodo, Oasis, Proximus Mandalay - Beautiful (7 Canny Mix) Marc Et Claude - La Ladytron - Playgirl, Light & Magic Kosheen - Face In A Crowd (and the rest of the album) Gouryella - Gouryella, Walhalla, Ligaya (vocal edit) Faithless - Crazy Mad English Summer, Salva Mea
Ok I think that's enough. Remember, if you like them, buy them! :P (w00t for Lamb, have you got Gorecki?)
oh oh oh, also check out team sleep. theyre the side project of chino moreno, singer from deftones. yeah i know you're thinking "but deftones is metal and thats not my style!' but team sleep is very deep, slow, moody and edgey, kinda like massive attack but darker.
a really good song is 'kool aid party', the guest singer is mike patton (faith no more, mr. bungle)
also listen to cambodia, mercedes, the passportal, natalie portman (don't ask me why they named a song after queen amidala... they're weird.) _ :pd: lick tongues
team sleep is good and i like the deftones, they're dynamic. cant wait for radiohead's new cd. seems like air would fit in with the type of stuff you like. also you should check out the new nada surf cd its pretty mellow.
Mauro Picotto - Back To Cali, Iguana, Komodo, Oasis, Proximus -> no trance for me :P
Mandalay - Beautiful (7 Canny Mix) -> ive known this song for ages. one of my all time faves. :D
Gouryella - Gouryella, Walhalla, Ligaya (vocal edit) -> not really into trance (im more of a progressive house'r) :D although hybrid's mix of walhalla is really great.. and ligaya has a very nice hook..
Ok I think that's enough. Remember, if you like them, buy them! :P (w00t for Lamb, have you got Gorecki?) -> of course i have :)
If you want something you can completely lose yourself in, try Tool. Get the album called Lateralus and take it to a quiet room one night. Turn all the lights out and lie down then listen to it from beginning to end. Smoke a couple of joints through out, if that's your type of thing.
If you really lose yourself in the music, you'll find out exactly why they all say "Tool doesn't make music, they make art". It's really mindblowing - very cutting edge progressive "metal", and I use that term lightly. Go ahead and try them, you may be disapointed, but probably not. ;)
you might fancy Cave-In's newer music... especially from the albums Jupiter, and their latest Antenna... their newer music is spacey, progressive rock... their old music is pure metal though.
no... they called themselves metal in their biography on their website... i was just going by what i read. "Straight-up frozen metal with a series of gravel throated vocalists screaming themselves ragged"...
actually... cave-in's old music leans more towards metal than hardcore anyway... most people consider lots of music like this hardcore anyway... if you wanted to get technical you could call cave in metal-core... the old cave-in guitar riffs were certainly metal inspired.
i'm not saying you're right or wrong... nor do i consider myself right or wrong... you can call it what you want, it is all opinion. their style of music crossed genres.
