nice celica, i'd like it if you keep it stock... if you fix it up (exteriors), get ready to be called a ricer by a-holes who think they're the sh!t (especially with an automatic ;)) unless you can back it up... so just be a sleeper and fix what you need to destroy these posers, a 3s-gte would do. Like they all say, that engine is bulletproof. >:]
ricer is pieced together from rice rocket and racer. anyway, PLEASE do yourself a favor and keep that celica nice and stock. and thats coming from an asian.
ricer = someone who puts a bunch of crap on their car (stickers for companies they don't own products by, gigantic spoilers, bumblebee exhaust, little shoulder cushion things on the seatbelt that says Powered by Honda) not sure if it has to be a Japanese brand car or not but usually Hondas. They're all like "Look at me I went to AutoZone, spent $300 of mommy & daddy's money and now I have a Fast and the Furious car harharhar."

I was never a big fan of the newer Celicas. I always liked the older years with the round headlights. They were smoother. And on a side note, I hate those kids that put all that crap on their cars. It's like, yeah we know you are driving a Honda. No need to put a billboard up on the top of your windshield. It must be embarassing too when I out-drive them in my 96 Camry.

and jealars are the people who drive beatup 1969 Chevy's and Fords (good ole boy american cars) and are jealous of those who can afford these 'rice racers'
Just to clarify:: "ricer" usually refers to Japanese car (because Asians are known for eating rice, and because many of them are interested in customizing their cars.) The term's been used to denote most customized sportcars, however. It may seem like an insulting term, but it isn't really thought of like that or used in that context . . . .
Rice applies to any vehicle, whether import or domestic. It simply refers to tacky, useless, or flat out obnoxious modifications that don't add to the car's overall performance or aesthetics.
Anyway, I eat rice, but I don't like it on my car. :P
if you want to see ricers visit lawrenceburg indiana. ive seen the funniest shit down here, its hilarious.
a ricer is misconcived to just jap. cars. the definition is like what SaltTank said. it applies to any car. for example i have seen "riced out" mustangs, cavaliers, etc... "ricing out" a car is when someone puts products that make the car look or sound like a modified car that can go faster or has more horsepower than it does, or the driver says or acts like his car is better than everyones. like this guy who owns a like 1989 honda prelude.
just speaking my opinion, if i offended anyone, i am sorry. but that is my opinion.
@Max: caesar1996's definition is an accurate definition of a ricer, I also agree with RaCeR's definition. Ricer doesn't necessarily mean asian cars but it did originate from asian cars. Now it's used whenever someone "fixes up their car to the max" especially with stickers.
@Metromix: exactly.
@LTD: your first definition of a ricer is not all true because not all japanese sportscars are "rice", for example, the NSX... even if it is customized, it should not be called a rice car and it's a honda.
i love this thread, i hate ricers so much.. i mean its ok to have a foreign car i guess, but dont put NOS stickers all over it and put a huge fin, body kid, big rims, and a stupid exaust. if you want newer sports car, buy a porsche, or a viper, not some $15,000 heap that you think you can make look fast.. www.anti-rice.com
my personal favorate thing is when peole do al this stuff to their early 90's escort and caviliers. first of all, they didnt pay for the car or even the things they put on it. (note i said "on" it. they dont do anything to the 4 cyl 110 hp engine or whatever. wait people do add the k&n air, which might i add, looks retarded alongside the stock everything. ) in my opion, people should save up the extrat grrand or two they spend on the beater, put it in the bank, double, trible, etc. it until you can buy a nice car that doesnt need a body kit. i do have to admit, some of the cars do look sharp, such as the new accordwith the body kit and mid to late 90's acrura. i just dont get this whole nonsence and im 16. must be because i dont have mommy and daddy buying everything for me. i bought my car.
