description....

Welcome to SimHack, a safe haven for everyone. Cyber pirates, lawless crackers, white and black hats, script kiddies and those possessing certain bits of knowledge they could be killed for all congregate here. This is a virtual world within the virtual world known as the Web. Explore and seek out vulnerable targets, join up with like-minded and worthy hackers of your own calibur, and go out on a mission to gain total control over all systems.

Increase your abilities and your control over others while feeding your insatiable hunger for knowledge and power. There is a niche for everyone to get into, and everyine is getting into fights with everyone else. It's either going to be you against everyone, or you might be lucky enough to gain the added protection of an exclusive group.

You have to watch your back here and improve your abilities every chance you get. If you don't you will be chewed up and spit out with nowhere to go and no one to protect you. Your only way of gaining trust or staying alive is by earning respect. You have to fight at every turn and earn a name for yourself. If you are unknown you will amount to absolutely nothing, and no one will cry at your loss when your system gets fried by some AOLer.

Oops. Did I say it was a "safe" place?

SimHack is a browser-based/turn-based hacking simulation game. You can be a part of the AOL, AIM, IRC, or General Hacking scene. Your offense is measured by your computer knowledge and weapon power. Your defense is measured in computer security.

Firstly, train your stats to a higher level, then go attack someone. Remember that in order to make a successful attack, your offense must be a bit higher than your intended victim's defense, so be sure to scan their defenses before making an attack. You receive respect when making successful attacks on people, just as it works in real life situations. You are ranked by your respect in this game, and the winner of the game is determined based on the level of respect one accumulates.

Your internet connection decides how many turns you get per a certain amount of time. Your statistics/abilities increase randomly based on the number of turns you have thus far used. Just as in real life, accumulating knowledge to aid your hacking takes time and patience.

As you accumulate more respect and higher stats you will gain higher levels. Perhaps you will join a crew and obtain more upgrades to even further increase your stats, making you a truly formiddable opponent and an asset to your crew. All users start at level 1 of their scene (user, lamer, etc.). As you progress you will raise your level to such things as "elite hacker", an AIM guide or host, or an AOL internal account. The higher your level goes, the more powerful your weapons become.
