i really starting to get into vector walls after looking at axii's work here at custo...are there any other good vector artists here at custo besides axii and victorc?
What's with the hostility towards hermik? Maybe I missed something . . .
: Nothing's better than takin a dump and checkin out some uber hardware...well...hacking into microsoft while dropping off the Cosby's might be better :
There are similiar thechniques to the original illustrator x/y vector technique. I see many people using photoshop to give the pen-tool a first try.
It was just some weeks ago when i heard the word tutorial for the first time. I donīt count much on such things. You need to learn it by doing. There is no way to "learn" how to work with the pen tool. You need to explore it on your own to find your own style. The vector is big. There are so so so many possibilities to work with this tool.
i would say try it in photoshop first. After you discovered the "behaviour" and you know how to use photoshop change to illustrator and start doing some really really simple shades.
Thatīs how i learned. HA! Still learn. I just know two upper class artists. Those are rathy and jellycious. Axii is going a different way. And thatīs what impresses me and makes loving his works. I havenīt found an artist to compare with him.
This is a fine opportunity to link a vector tutorial from Nitz designs. (Joacim Nitz) Some of you may find it useful, the results are very tasty. I stumbled upon it on the Sijun forums.
Imrick, like flashback said, shocks is right. pen tool tutorials are essential for learning things like bezier curves, handles, paths, etc. the first timer would be lost without those basic skills. individual style comes after that.
i've got many people asking me to write a vector tutorial, but i wouldn't know where to start. like many other people said before me, an important thing is the Pen Tool. The most important thing to me is colouring, which is also involved with individual style. I always get headaches when colouring.
I won't write a tutorial on "how to make vector art", but i'd write a "the making of...".
