I was sitting in psychology class today looking at the wall and suddenly began wondering if maybe the power outage was due to the lovsan virus. I believe that its not a completely abstract thought due to the fact that it does shut down computers, and chances are the power grid isn't run by pulleys and cranks. The virus was also introduced just over 24 hours before the outage. Just a thought
i'm sure it's totally unrelated to the deregulation and the heat wave, but has to do a port 135 windows vulnerability
not that it matters. in the rumor mill that is the internet, this is going to be picked up by news sites in seconds and then, wham, front cover of new york times: windows worm takes down new york.
Hmm, Im pretty sure it's safe to say anyone who thinks this Blaster or Lovsan worm took out the niagra mohawk power grid is pretty nuts :) The majority of the problem remains , that once the niagra mohawk power grid went out, the rest of the grids and plants tried to take the load, and since the state/mayors are too damn cheap to get new power plants/grids, the loads tripped each circuit and put the load onto the next one, causing a total chain reaction up and down most of the east side of the US, along with some parts of Detroit and into Philadelphia.
I'd love to see a worm that could do that :)
:I'd walk a million miles for your love, I'd walk a million more for that little thing you do with your tongue :
