If you are having trouble accessing #customize on IRC this evening, it is due to a troll running rampant on the servers and parading his botnet around. Unfortunately, this means flooded channels for everyone.
In any event, in order to access, you'll need to register your nickname. You can do this by typing:
/msg nickserv register password email
An email will be sent, and you reply, and bam, you're registered.
