You should contact the coder or hovernews and submit a bug report firstly. =^.~= It is the most recomended app arround.

LiteStep has a few plugins that can handle RSS I think. To be honest, other than hovernews, I'm not sure. Does it have to be skinnable?

Oh ya, you could make a webpage to link into the RSS feed. You could even have that as your (active) desktop... I think. Just some options that you may or may not have thought of.

Oh ya, for those that don't know a thing about RSS (as I once did ^.~)...

RSS stands for: Rich Site Summary (I think)

Basically, it's used as a way for sites or programs to access the news of another site. It's just a special (& standard formated) xml file.

While looking through all this stuff and composing this post I have found that Headline Viewer is actually skinnable. o.O; I've never seen a section for it though. This is something I'll have to look into. So far it seems betas are freeware, so that's good. It also seems that it hasn't been updated since 2001, so that's not good. I haven't tried it out yet, so if anyone does, let us know how well it works. 8)
