no. do nothing. save your money. anything you do to that car to make it look "cool" will have the opposite effect. take off your rims & sell them .i am guessing they are no bigger than 17" b/c you have a geo and anything under 18" just isn't worth having. roll on your steels for a while or get Walmart $10 hubcaps if you like. Just save your money for a better car when you get older. I am also guessing you are young b/c you are asking about hooking up a Geo. Or this is a big joke, which i hope is the case.

put a Type R badge on it, a GT-R emblem and you'll gain like 20HP easily LOL.then get a big ass titanium wing and put it on your trunk, it doubles as a tanning bed or a park bench, your choice. ^_^
"real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" ..::Confucious::..
its a geo, just paint it bright yellow and buy an amazing sub/play gabber/junlge alot. thats the ONLY way it will even remotely be worth turning heads.

People do some strange things to cars... I saw another Metro... it had been converted to a rear-wheel-drive dragster. They'd crammed a V8 into it, huge blower sticking out of the hood, drag slicks on the rear, a wheelie bar and even a stop chute on the back of it. I wouldn't doubt the engine weighed as much as the rest of the car. It wasn't a mock up or anything, this was a serious conversion going on. I saw it and I was like "What the FUCK is that?" I wish I could see what it does on the track, the power:weight ratio has to be absolutely absurd.

i doubt that car could really ride drag style...it's likely that a V8 would generate enough torque to tear the chassis apart.
As far as pimpin' your geo....first off, after watching my brother spend thousands on his 2000 Civic si (a car that's actually designed to be a racer) and seeing his regret now, I think spending money on car upgrades is ridiculous.
In any event, if you want to put work into your car (which I wouldn't recommend) look for people who have done it. I'm not sure you're gonna find any here, this isn't really the place for that.
I'd say, save for a new car. Geo's have a tendency to die. No sense on spending 5 times what the car is worth in upgrades just to have it not start.
Don't bother doing anything to it. I bought my car 5 years ago for $10,000 and the only thing I've done to it besides routine maintenance is upgrade the stereo. (I replaced the wheels, but only because I had no choice.)
I suppose it is possible to make the Geo look a lot cooler, but I wouldn't do it. Like ds said, upgrading any car like that can be expensive and easily regrettable. Things like the stereo - that's something you can use every day, as long as you don't overdo it. As far as exterior modifications, they're not usually worth it. I'd prefer a clean, somewhat subtle car to a flashy car any day.
a bit off subject, but a guy I know got t-boned on his drivers side. He didn't get it fixed cause well that costs mucho dinero, so he went to a printing shop and had them print up a giant vinyl sticker that looked like a band-aid and slapped that over it. Very original and it totally made his '93 accord look like a sweet sex ride.
make it look cooler?...let's see....it'd probably look a whole lot cooler on fire.
I wouldn't recommend dumping a couple grand on a non-performance vehicle to 'make it look or ride cooler' , infact i say you keep this car as is (boooone stock) keep it as your daily driver, save your money, and look into purchasing a better car, and then you can consider customizing. --------------------``' Philanthropy.
yeah alot of people are ricing out thier cars these days. its really sad to see them waste thousands on a shitty car and think they are fast, when you can use that money to get a even faster/ better car. personally, the only decent sport honda is the prelude.
(food for thought): i drive a 90 twin turbo supra, i've spent a couple bucks on it, for things i feel the car needs (a stereo, replaced interior, etc.)
lol...my bro drives a civic...he's into that culture.
I'm proud to say that he's not one of those kids with the 15-ft tall wings or the type R logos all over a car that has nothing to do with Type R. He's at least been respectable about it, and his car is the better for it. He doesn't care so much about speed as the style / sound...at least, didn't care when he was working on the car.
In any event, I drive a 1997 Mustang GT.
Every car manufacturer, including honda, has realized that at a certain point, that's as far as you can take that little 4-cylinder. At some point, you've gotta add some cylinders to make the shit go any faster. That's why their high end cars are available with 6-cylinders now....and some even with 8-cyls.
your forgetting about acuras, honda makes acura. just to clarify, ricing out a car is putting objects on your car that makes it look or sound faster but doesnt. now a catback or other muffler system does increase horses, certain wings and spoilers on certain cars do have functionality, and stickers should only be done if you have that product or products on your car or grafix designs that look good and respectable on your car.
i didnt even customize my car either, the "action package" came with it, all that is is a body kit and spoiler, so i only spent like a few hundred more instead of buying aftermarket thats like 302380583458348534- dollars.

Too many kids these days ricing up their cars... I think we can blame hollywood for it, and everything else, or video games too...
lol jk, but I think the movies
"The fast and the furious"
has something to do with all these ricers we got roaming our streets now-a-days...
I'd just stick with the car exterior after it comes out of the factory... and change the factory speakers and maybe some interior stuff, but exterior body mods are NORMALLY a waste of money, not sure how many people get their money out of it
That's the one reason I don't blast my bro for his civic...there's no rice. All the badges / stickers he has on his car are from manufacturers who actually made the parts he uses. He does not have a giant R or S on his car as his car is neither.
His cat-back cost him about $600, and makes his car sound more like a Euro-racer than an asian machine. It's not what we call, "street-legal" exhaust. lol.
But anyway, that's one thing I"ve always thanked my brother for, not doing the same shit that every other kid does...he did some *real* work to his car.
Only problem is.....he's got a couple grand wrapped up in performance parts for his car, and he still can't beat me in a race. All that work, wrench time, etc....and my Mustang GT with nothing but a K&N air filter and dual-chamber flowmaster mufflers that in total set me back like $300 will still smoke his ass in a heartbeat.
We even figured it out if he put about the best turbo we could find on his car which would cost him like $1500 more, and he'd still only barely hang with me.
*shrug*
Get a bigger motor. I don't give a fuck about your "ratios" that you brag about all day long, truth is, MY V8 will still rip you apart on the track.
Caesar- that is damn funny. "In the summer the doors can be removed in the back instantly transforming this car into a civic with no rear doors." That's just awesome.
And ds is right about performance and money issues. Pour a lot of money and time into a Civic, and it will run 9 second quarters with no trouble. Put the same amount of money into a Mustang - maybe less - and it will run 8's. What you start with makes a huge difference. Personally, though I don't like American cars much, the Mustang is a good relatively cheap performance car that's easily modified. Start with a late model Supra, and you'll beat a Mustang. Of course, it costs more.
As far as ratios, they're pretty pointless, unless you're trying to prove that Japanese designers are simply more efficient. As far as horsepower to cubic inch ratios, my 4-cylinder Camry is more efficient than a Dodge Viper. That brings up this question: So? Who cares? Does that make my car faster? No. I personally don't give a damn about that, and I doubt many people do.
I hope this doesn't turn into a "my car is better than your car" thread. Enjoy your car, enjoy driving, whatever, but if you have something to prove please don't do it on the street. Somebody in a Camaro SS can beat up on an Eclipse or whatever, but a slightly modified S2000 or Supra or whatever can beat up on that, and then there's the old guy down the street who's got that ass-ugly 7 second Plymouth Satellite. Or an old Nova that runs 8's and has something like 900 rear-wheel horsepower. There's always something faster.
And there's some things that just don't make sense. I've seen guys in Allentown run 9's in old Toyota hatchbacks - a Starlet, I believe - and the car doesn't look much different than a Dodge Omni.
not sure why my first post didn't go through.. but i said i had a 98 mustang gt.
and about that car,. dude. it has to be a joke. they make fun of the busted out parking lights.. and make fun of the fact they used a garden edge for ground effects.. it's hilarious
man, my Sunfire will kick all your asses... to 10mph anyway

drifting looks (and is) amazingly cool, i wouldn't recommend it to people who like to keep their cars in a 'showroom' type fashions...the people who drift USE their cars...cracked body kits..broken control arms, you name they've probably repaired it with duct tape and kept drifting..
yes drifting is a very dangerous, will damage your car and is very illegal in unsanctioned areas but extremely fun, better than racing in my opinion. the reason im in to it is because, about a year or so ago i owned a 96 chevy 2.2l s10 and accidently(kinda) drifted it alittle a few times and well it got addictive, so i did it some more and got pretty good at it. but since no two different cars are the same i guess that im not that good. after i sold my truck i got into researching it and then i started seeing it in magazines and stuff. im actually looking for a 240sx that is cheap enough for me to buy after i sell my 97 2.2l ecoshit cavalier. blah blah blah, as you see i could keep going and going about this so i will stop. well thats my 2 cents..uhh. i mean 5 bucks. now how about yours?
I think that deleting my comments on the message board is pretty infantile. I didn't realize you guys feared my opinion that much. I'll admit I often say something cynical and off the wall, but a lot of the time I do add some seriousness to it. The point of the post you guys got rid of was that people should use cars as a tool to get around. I know a kid that probably resembles a lot of you guys. He is a good guy, but he thinks that a souped up rice wagon is going to get him some pussy. Honestly, the only girl that fucked him was some girl he met on the internet, who my friends insist had an adam's apple. I drive a Toyota, and I haven't done anything to it. It has a CD player and I'm happy.
i'm gonna put it as simple as i can... because i don't really know how to describe it in other terms :)
drifting is something like an "art," involving entering, going through, and exiting turns at the highest speeds possible.
mountains/mountainous areas make particularly good drifting areas. and if i remember correctly, you'll want a rear-wheel drive car for an "optimal experience." (read: less things breaking less often)
someone correct me if i'm wrong, my car knowledge has gone down the shitter.
I think in other words drifting is also known as "reckless driving." An old friend of mine did that in Colorado and flew off a mountain (literally). They rolled down a cliff and managed to escape, though it was pretty bad.
It's just looking to me like drifting is another name for driving like an asshole. I have no patience for that since I was once almost killed by one such driver. If that happens again, somebody's getting a thrill out of flying bullets.
i think drifting is more like instead of acually turning your car's steering wheel to go around a turn, you kind of turn and slide sideways and then shoot through the turn. I am good at it, on Gran Turismo 3 =) It is real big in Japan.

One of my computers has a window. And it has a fanlight. :)
But it does not have a sticker saying it's a quad Xeon, even though it is not. Nor does it have muffler like device that wakes up the whole block. I have not added any devices to supposedly keep it stuck to the desk when it goes too fast.
I did not watch a film about a ragtag gang of PC enthusiasts with kick ass PCs and then run out and mod up my crappy Gateway. I do not walk up and down the sidewalk with my PC making very loud car noises, flashing neon lights and deploying a sub woofer that shakes the earth.
Nor do I congregate in parking lots with other PC modders and line up my PC with all of theirs in an a little display. Generally doing nothing but looking a little dumb.
Ricing and PC modding are not even in the same galaxy as a measure dumbassedness.PC modding can be goofy, but it's not annoying. I have never been woken up at night by PC modder and his purposely overly loud machine flying down my street at dangerous speeds.
to be a little more exact, drifting involves deliberately fishtailing a car to change the attitude of the nose in relation to the exit angle. think Ridge Racer here. in the hands of a skilled driver, this opens up a WORLD of passing lanes that would not exist otherwise, and is a very advanced (if not especially fast) cornering technique. in japan, it's a means of showing off, mostly in downhill racing. and in the usa... it's driving like an asshole and a waste of good tires if you do it on the streets.
to be a little more exact, amplifried, i don't think you're so much feared as disliked.
and as for the car modders... they'll probably be having this conversation on a parking lot somewhere in the midwest in three hours. 'i may have some stupid lights on my eclipse, but at least i don't keep half the apartment building up until three am typing on a damn keyboard'
That's awesome. I never once in my entire life ever made any sort of connection between car modifications and PC modifications. But now it's been put so simple. I'm gonna dip my case in my acid and get carbon casings for my monitor and keyboard to save weight. And a Type-R sticker too. That will add at least 250 MHz.
Is there some way we can put an exhaust or noise maker of some kind on our machines?
I just can't imagine how cool it must be to let every other person who comes to my apartment know how wicked my machine is. Yeah, quiet from the factory, but when it gets running it should sound like a leaf blower or (insert other wimpy 2-cycle engine here), so I let everybody know who's boss. Wait, that's a "tuner car" kind of thing. You know, those exhaust tips that look like sawed-off soup cans.
Most importantly, I think I need a fire extinguisher inside my not-overclocked-or-pushed-at-all 1.7 GHz PC in case it catches fire. Hell, better safe than sorry.
btw..a quick timeline i grabbed off the net somewhere
Timeline :: Toyota Supra
1978.4 : Celica XX was borne with the l-6 engine. 1981.7 : Celica XX A60 (Supra) . The nose has pop-ups headlights. In '82, the M-TEU turbo engine was installed.
1986.2 : MA70 was called SUPRA for the first time in Japan. Under the Supra's long hood was a 185ps l-6 2.0liter twin turbo engine. And, more powerful 230ps l-6 3.0liter turbocharged engine. The high performance Turbo-A limited came with a 270ps version of the 7MG l-6 turbocharged engine.
1990 : The Supra got a new 280ps 2.5 liter twin turbocharged 1JZ-GTE engine -------
maybe i'm still a dummy though :r...yes, yes you are
check out this website http://www.geocities.com/ma71supraturbo/ MKIII edit find(on this page)... twin finished searching document yeah what i though 1 turbo, you clearly dont know about your car or are a liar who drives a civic because anyone who knows anything about cars knows supras
i'd have to say, if i had MK3 i would swap the the 7M-GE engine with the newer 2JZ-ME as for the twin turbo i would swap it out for a larger single turbo, more horses:P
the reason i pick the older supra is cause i like the hard lines the car has and i have been in one, it was a turbo, and driving it was a blast. too bad my dad sold it
Neo_Drakin is such a fucking retard, "fast and the furious" didnt start making high schoolers want to rice their cars. they were already doing it you just never noticed them dipshit. anyways "the fast and the furious" and "2 Fast 2 Furious" are gay...in the tuning culture its more like "2 Lame 2 Watch"
