I mostly miss the games of the early to mid-90's...
I was one of the people who got really into the live-action video games of that era...the ones that used video clips of real people. My favorites were the Phantasmagoria games...wish Sierra would make another one.
when you said "old games" the first that came into my mind was Asteroids (Atari)... my first game..... my sister and I used to spend hour playing that thing.... =)
oh ya, the question about playing these in xp, dosbox is the way to go, it allows controll of your processor speed so the animations dont go crazy fast.
original ghost n goblins, ninja gaiden, Zelda - A link to the past, the mario where he had a racoon tail as a power up (can't remember sequel number)... and i miss playing arcade games, when they still used to make consistenly, like MK 2 amd killer instinct... i need a time machine. :/

space invaders on my dad's old kaybro green and black screen computer was my old favorite. we were kinda poor back then so no genesis or snes for me...
Donkey Kong on the old hand-held 2 screeners. Holy crap what joy that brought. The vastest amount of time spent on a game (late 80's - early 90's) has to go to either Prince of Persia or Wolfeinstein on PC, Tetris on hand held, Mario on nes, and god knows what on the Commodore and the ones before it.
I still fire up some abandonwear from time to time. Raiden, Bubble-Bobble, Pong etc.
It's funny, this thread repeats its self about twice a year but each time everybody takes out the time to post pretty much the same stuff and remember.
what about all those people (ok just me) who never had a consol and whose first video game was Oragon Trail at school? It was fun, and all I really played until I got a comp going to college.
wolfenstien was great. i hate final fantasy. you do nothing: "you found an enemy, do you want to, 1. fight him 2. run away 3.cast magic spell "2. run away - you tripped and he found you again. 3. your spell failed; you begin to fight him."
I miss my Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for SNES and DOOM for PC, my first PC game. Not to mention the classics like Super Mario, Asteroids, and Space Invaders.
