get a program that converts PNG to ICO (axialis iconworkshop for example) if you read the creator's post he said they are for objectdock hence the PNG format

I am 100% behind Axialis IconWorkshop. it is awesome. you can import PSD files and it'll make them icons for you, you can even batch create.

caesar, I just tried Axialis IconWorkshop, and it rocks arse! I like it a lot, I'm thinking of purchasing it at the end of my 30-day trial. One thing tho, does this program support extention file icons? such as if u want to change the default .jpg file icon into another, that kind of feature.

If it can do that, then I will weep with joy. Especially if it simplifies it. If this can do it, or someone finds a program that can, please post a link here.

In the meantime, where and how can I change the default "folder" icon? I can change file folder, but not folder. (I might have those two backwards.)

WAIT! IconWorkshop has one major weakness ever since I tried it out couple of years ago ... and still haven't been taken out. If you use it to build a icon library, such as the .icl files in Windows (or others), then you will have a library file with some extra unnecessary codes in it, making the file size bigger than it should be. Just check it by building 2 version of the same library by using IconWorkshop against other builders, like Microangelo or my tool of choice - IconShop.

The Photoshop plugin for exporting icons is called Icon Builder (Pro) from no other than IconFactory. The idea behind it is use the graphic program of your choice to draw up the icon then use the plugin to edit the masks, quick-dimension-versions-building, and/or exporting to native Windows or Mac icon formats, The reason you may say it's weak is beacuse it's never intended to be an icon drawing tool on its own.
