Full Albums Full Games (Sometimes before they are even out) Movies ( Sometimes before they are out :workprints:) Full Version Applications TV Shows Anime Movies Comics Mac Stuff
soulseek is the best app you will find for full albums. bittorrent is for more mainstream apps/etc (which i myself have no interest in). also, DC++ is a great and fast program for apps/music/software/etc.
Well for me although they are shakey - they produce the best results. Earth Station 5. http://www.es5.com i couldn't argue with them when they started offering streaming video of payperview events.

sorry for hijacking this thread sorta, but i just wanted to know if anyone has used Kademlia, and if so, HOW DO YOU COMPILE IT? i have acquired MS Visual C++ 6.0, and i have no clue where to start on compiling the prog.
Kademlia is the new alpha-stage Emule/Overnet Hybrid. but the only catch is that you have to compile the source your self to use it. and i have no idea where to start.
es5 has no malicious code i believe. there was some debate about something in the search feature, but if you get the new version thats all been removed.
ES5 as of recent definitly has no "mallicous" code however everyone is very afraid to use it because its to good to be true (i remember when people freaked out about it "installing" netmeeting)
when you think of tracker, think of it as the server going down for a while, if the site is crap then the tracker would be down for days, if you have a good site, just a couple of hours.
viper, i know you've prolly tried this but im gonna say it anyways...
just open the project file, and then build the project, or compile... (both options are in one of the pull downs ie "file, edit ... etc") either one should produce a host of errors, these can be found at the window at the bottom... if not, poke around for the option to view the errors that should get you started... im sorry i cant help more than that... but its been a while since ive had to compile anything... but in those errors it should tell you if you are missing any lib's or if any of the paths are incorrect...
also ive done some poking around, and have found that there are alot of people that are having problems implimenting this and there are people that are unhappy with its performance... just read some pdfs found on the site (http://kademlia.scs.cs.nyu.edu/), not to helpful there lol, but best of luck if you want to go this route...
i did find this link for an emule/kademlia hybrid, this can be found here ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/emule/ ) they have precompiled it for you... or if you want to abuse yourself lol you can download the source again ;-)... but in anycase best of luck...
call me crazy but there is something about bittorent that I don't like, don't ask what... but used it once, just before reformat the computer, and never installed it again, and I wont do it.
I've used kazaa onle, but maybe I'll try Soulseek and tell you how it turn out.
sorry, I have no clue, what am I going to use after kazaa...
Thing that sucks about Bittorent is that you need to upload to download...the better your upload speed/ratio, the better speed you have downloading...and if you try to lower your upload to 1kb/sec, that just ruins your download because it's based on an UL/DL ratio. At least, that's what the BT website says, which is just BS in my opinion. I dont want people leeching off of me, so that I can leech off them (sounds horrible doesnt it?) but im on 1-way cable, my 2.5K/sec upload isnt going to do anyone any good. I'll stick with Kazaa (until it changes like everyone's saying) and emule/DC++
:I'd walk a million miles for your love, I'd walk a million more for that little thing you do with your tongue :
ridgeburner. Don't you think that if no one let other people upload, then there wouldn't be a kazaa or bittorrent. I think bittorrent is very far, and your 2.5 kbs means alot, when you add your 2.5 kbs + another guys 2.5 kbs upload, then you get 5 kbs, and when other 2.5 kbs comes along it makes it a nice 7.5 kbs upload for someone trying to download the file, i think it's fair enough that everyone shares. Without sharing there would be no Peer to Peer Network. Don't you think ?
