hm. use popup blocker. best of both worlds, sites are happy since the calls execute, people are happy since there isnt a crap on your desktop.

there's one called "dont panic" i think thats cake to use. look on google.

I'm sure there's some psychological explaination that offers a theory on why people can't deal with small shit like a pop-up ad. I just need to keep looking. I guess I'm a hypocrite though, I can't deal with people that can't deal. There is a difference betwee suggestions and just totally giving up, and you shouldn't give up on this site because of pop-ups. deviantART had pop-ups. What if it does again? are you going to leave the scene? Know what I mean? When does it stop? sorry, I'm a little jaded right now and I'm taking it out on this forum thread. we implemented some banner ads on the site today (as you can see) which are provided by a third party ad agency.. apparently they are also unexpectedly serving us pop up ads and we are looking into it..

thank you...the ads are fine...but the popups are annoying as hell, as long as you are trying to get rid of the popups im cool, thanks again

click on the shit, in the long run it'll make the site better....maybe they can get a better server up so no more ambulance screen. It's all bout the $.

I don't know if anyone's said it yet, but stop whining (I was sad to see that Custo was in the situation to require ads, but hey, I can deal with that) and either turn off JavaScript or get a pop-up blocker. There's plent, and I'm trying out Don't Panic! 4.0 to see how it works. Pop-Up Killer just pissed me off, didn't block many for me. Either way, peace.

About what Locke said about interesting ads, Custo should have some, because... yeah, just because. I don't mind ads one bit, but I tend to embrace them if they are atleast.. semi-l337. This redcross thing and uh, save 30% on life insurance ads aren't really targeted to the sites demographics. But I understand that's beyond the site administrators control... to a degree. as i mentioned earlier, we are looking into it.. we don't want the popups on the site either.. however, these things take some time, i mean, just look at how long it took for us to get the ads up in the first place? please bear with us

most effective ads are those on the high server load page as i see it more than the site... hopefully these ads will fix that problem
