i was just lookin at a 'wp' about some ducati motorcycle engine - the guy got slagged for uploading what basically constituted an ad for ducati, and got all "sorry for trying to design something"
perhaps a new section for just artwork should be put in place? you know, all those designs ("i know this ain't a wall, but here you go anyways") can just go in there.
ultimately, art is in the eye of the beholder - maybe it should be a public rating system.
obviously, as far as moderation goes the line would have to be drawn somewhere...
Believe it or not this sites is not about artwork, it is about customization. True artwork is involved in the customization process but random art, weather it be good or not, is not part of the customization process.

Well, I got on him about the ad bit. I don't know. I have ads pumped at me all day, why put one on my desktop..? If he made it bigger and erased the ducati (text and/or logo) out of it, I might think "Hey, what a neat motorbike wallpaper." This place shouldn't be about free ads for motor vehicle manufacturers.
sooprcow, i understand that custo isn't an online art gallery - maybe some of these people submitting don't?
and colossus, i wasn't having a go at you - i fully agree with you - i don't particularly want an ad on my desktop, and was kinda hopin for a groovy ducati wp myself..
