system tray icons

I am not aware of anyway way to change them except to hack the exe that the systray icon represents or to just hide the systray itself. Sorry I cant help more.

since this smart guy ( http://www.customize.org/view/30995 ) has found a way to customize those tray icons i think there should be a way to change those without hacking the exe

if its the onl way then i cant imagine how this should work

i found a proggy named "resource tune"
little buggy - wont accept any of my custo icons :(

That "smart guy" would be me... I just changed the resources in the exe's / dll's. Go to www.virtualplastic.net for some nice tutorials concerning this :-) (try to search for "reshack" or just go here: http://www.virtualplastic.net/html/art_hack.html )

So yes, hacking the .exe files. I find it considerably easier (and much simpler to theme your desktop) if you just hide the systray.

well if it is only for a couple of icons then it takes maybe 30 minutes in total to add your icons to quite a lot of files (i do explorer, systray icons and some other small & simple things) and then i keep my desktop like that for,... ages :) And I dont want to hide those systray icons, I want to use them fast, otherwise they wouldnt be there :)

functionality over eye candy, sometimes those icons are there for a reason, then again you have to wonder about other features. Get out good ol' Reshacker and switch the icons ...
