the swedish design mag CAP&Design recently did an article about the best mouse. And Microsoft wireless intellimouse explorer 2.0 was the best choice. The MX900 did good also but it's more expensive.
the both perform really good and are both very comfortable and they both have side to side tilt action which i love and use all the time. the only thing i wish they had was a charger, they both take 6 AAA batteries in all 2 for mouse and 4 for keyboard

I switched from ms's first generation of wireless mice because I had to replace the batteries every two weeks or so. Dunno if they still have that problem.
i have the mx700, and i only charge it once every three days or so. the mouse is a little heavier than most mice, but i got used to it and have come to like the heaviness. as for games, it works just fine, and it looks pretty cool too.
I also have and reccommend mx700, great wireless mouse and no fuss on changing batteries. I agree with Phillipstyle, take a bit of getting use to the weight.
If you buy the mx900, you got bluetooth connection between mouse and charging dock, and you can also connect your other bluetooh gadgets to your pc.
Yep, MX700 is an ass-kicker of a mouse. Highly customisable, highly accurate, very comfortable. Oh, and the accompanying keyboard in the mx duo set is pretty spectacular too. I've had both for around 6 months now. The mouse goes at least 2 days without charge and I haven't yet replaced the keyboard batteries (and I'm an English student, so I type ALOT).

aphaits, if you're going to buy a keyboard only, go for the microsoft one. i have a wireless logitech keyboard and it works perfectly, but i would buy the microsoft wireless keyboard if i didnt already have this one.
and yeah, the batteries in my wireless keyboard seem to last forever.
The Logitech MX700 kicks ass. I got mine a little over half a year ago, and it's still running strong. I get about four, sometimes five, days of mousing with it (sans charging).
The diNovo keyboard and mouse combo by Logitech is by far the sexiest combination of standard input peripherals I've ever seen in my life.

I don't have the slightest idea about wireless, but I would tend to lean towards Logitech. As far as wired mice, optical or otherwise, MS has always been better for me. I have two Logitechs at work (one wired, one wireless, both optical) and they both are pretty weak compared to my wired Intellimouse here.
I suppose it's probably all a matter of opinion in the end.
