good notebook

Avatar-50x50

Anyone know of any good note books. It has to be good for running apps like PS and 3DS max, and be good for gaming. Is a 12 inch good? Specs should be something like 512mb ram, OS: WinXp Pro, 128mb Graphic Card. Been surfing all morning but theres too many to choose from. Took a look at some Vaio's but they dont look promising.

Ideas, Links please...

Well the one I am thinking of (Alienware) costs well over 1,000 dollars are you prepared to spend that much money?

Try Toshiba. I've had good luck with them. The problem is there's not a lot of difference between one laptop or another, at least in the mainstream market. Most Laptops are made by 3rd partys such as Quanta, Toshiba, and a few others and then other companies just put a name on it.

You're not going to get very good performance in max out of a notebook, unless you out of mainstream into the high end, like testing 123 suggested.

Yeah, i had a look at some of the alienware area 51 laptops, they look good enough, got the price down to about 1500 by customizing, and thats alot of $$. As long as can get the job done im happy.

The Sager Notebooks are fantastic. I've had my 2.4 GHZ, 128MB video, 16" screen notebook for a year now. It still rocks with the best of em'. And the prices are not bad at all. Much less than Alienware and these are the exact same laptops that Alienware brands and sells as their own (made by Clevo).
