ok, more computer troubles... ive been googling and cant find crap on it. my 2100us laptop has the three volume buttons on the side (up/down/mute), well the mute doesnt work anymore and the onscreen volume 'meter' doesnt show up anymore. anyone have any idea on how to fix it?
i'm assuming these controls are connected to the motherboard directly, and since it's a laptop...is it a possibility that they have become loose or disconnected, through transporting/carrying it?
no, the volume buttons work, the mute doesnt... but it used to show the onscreen volume (like on a tv, the volume bars), then out of nowhere it doesnt anymore.
try going to compaq's website and seeing if they have the drivers for the sound in the laptop. I havea shitpaq presario too :-(, I had to upgrade my drivers because something fucked up in windoze. Dunno, anyways I reinstalled them and everything worked fine after that.
