I'm working on some new images, and I'm a tad confused about where to go with them. Ideas are welcome, as this is a new area for me. I've never really tried to make something spaced and simpler like this.
http://www.freedomsiege.com/test.jpg
http://www.freedomsiege.com/test2.jpg
if you can get the lines on the black part of the first to look coherent on the left side, and then all you need is some 2d and such, and you've got a nice piece, just make sure to leave some open space.
Senex - the moire effect on those pieces is almost impossible to get rid of, as it's pretty much always there regardless of what kind of light I use. Even if I don't use any lights, it's actually somewhat worse. One alternative is to make the side completely shadowed, which might look OK, but somewhat doesn't fit with the texturing of the rest of it. I agree it would be nice to get rid of it, and I am working on it.
the render is ace (in the first image), but the blue bg needs to go n start fresh. the main model has so much potential waiting to come out. stick it in photoshop n just feck around with it for a few hours ;) pixel stretch, nice bold vector patterns could b totally bad ass
Alright, I'll see what I can do. One thing I do know at this point that the moire effect is likely going to stay, because the only real alternative is a flat texture, and that just doesn't capture the feel I want it to.
Pixel stretch on the right, which I think looks pretty good. Also, I trimmed down the 'walls' to allow for some more empty space. The left side, I tried putting a plane there to see how it looks. I'm not sure, exactly, so that's why I'm back here.
OK, so I'm looking for some ideas with the two sides, so to speak. The left side of the last image has a planar "cap" on the top of the wall, and the right side has a simple pixel stretch. I'm not confident that the two should go together - does one look better than the other? Any ideas here would be good.
