I've known a woman knock a man out with flying furiniture during an irrational rage. how do you take that like a man? I say, do what it takes to protect yourself, and calm the situation down. usually that involves removing yourself from the situation. But in rare circumstances force may be required. Domestic violence is a two way street, and the majority of men are too ashamed to admit that they are being regularly beaten by a woman. but it happens, and it is not rare.

No it's not ok, and the man can claim battary just like any woman, but is the peer pressure keeps them from doing it.
Men can and does get harrassed, molested, and/or raped by women (and other men), but extremely few are reported. it's due to the same reason, and some even expect men to *actually enjoy* being the victim. Shocked and shamed.
Men do get breast caner, in a statistically significant percentage of toal numbers of people with breast cancers too. But you hardly if ever hear about them in cancer awareness campaigns.

i dont think it is right for anyone to hit anyone else. however, if a woman wants to fight she should **** well be ready to get hit back. thats just how i feel. in actuality, i probably would never hit a woman unless in self-defense. i have came very close to hitting a few right in the face but backed away because i relized they were being irrational and immature.

Some (not all) people that like think of themselve as being civilised when not hitting back at women, is becuase they're sexists (both side f/m) who think of women to be weaker. I will say not. Women are not. And none of us should have this mis-preconception about them not able nor wanting to do harm.

A man is not a man if he hits a woman, but he cannot be considered a man if he lets the woman hit him. Unless that's their "thing", in which case I have no comment.

Hmm. I don't fight back. I was looking at this guy, in gym highschool about oh... when i was 17, he started at me wondering why I was staring at him, me being an idiot stood up while walking away, he tackled me into a locker and began hitting my ribs and smashing my head into a locker, then throwing me over a bench breaking it. I had too have 12 stiches on the side of my head, and couldn't stand right for about 9 weeks due too my back literally out. I sometimes wish I would fight back but in life to tell you the truth, even if I did it wouldn't help. I have almost no muscle mass, nor fighting abilites... If a woman was hitting me i'd take it, because I have felt worse in life and it wouldn't be the first time pain has gone without me caring. Pain is only what you make of it. And to me, it's just something I have to deal with.
No one should have to take the pain of abuse, and there is no such thing as 'deserving it'. I think that both the males and females who's been in abusive relationships or situations or maybe have low self esteem and is likely to fall prey to abuse should at least know or learn the basic moves for self defense.

last time a guy tackled me for no reason, he got the crap beat out of him......and im not very big either (17, 157lbs, 5'6") but i can unleash rage that will make you quiver.. and if thinking that women should be treated with respect and never be harmed means that im sexist.....then i guess i am.
My second wife was physicaly abusive. Over the coarse of five years, I got slammed into walls, closets, got hit in the head with a frying pan, got hit by a flying TV (it was small), punched the face, and one time ended up with 16 stitches when she kicked open a door into my face.
I always heard about guys getting abused by women and thought "what a bunch of pussies", but when you're in that situation you think that if you hit back, I'm going to jail not her. Well the last episode was when she punched me in the balls and I in pain back-handed her . She tried to call the cops but I stopped that. She left two months later I guess because maybe she saw that I'd been pushed to my limit.
I've never hit anyone before in my life, not even a guy, I just never had to fight. I feel bad about the whole thing every day, but in the end I know I wasn't a sissy, I just had a self control I never knew I had and know that I wasn't the abuser.
I've been in abusive relationships before. Those who don't know me, feel free to dig up old picture threads and see that I don't quite look like the type to be abused. Then again, I didn't hit back. I just left. Once, I pushed her, and she freaked out. Her stepfather was a cop, and he just gave me some half-ass talk about not seeing her. I didn't, but that was because she slashed me with a Buck knife and not because of what he said to me. But I know what MD says - If I hit her, I'm going to jail. It's a scary thought - going to jail, and the stigma attached to hitting a woman. Even if she is over the edge and trying to kill (or most definitely hurt) you.
society's double standards on things kill me. if a man beats a woman and she kills him for it.. she's a hero. if a woman beats a man and he smacks her once.. he's an abuser. and honestly, i think that there are tons of women who take advantage of that. if a woman hits a man in anger.. i hope he hits her back. if you put yourself in a man's place then you should be treated as such.

My six year old cousin loves this show, her favourate tubbie just happens to be tinky winky, and she's been watching this show since she was three. ok now hitting a woman is wrong, BUT if she decides that she has the right to swing on a man then she should be taught a lesson. Don't hit her the first time it happens but if it happens again take her over your knee and spank the daylights out of her. A woman's behind is soft enough to take a few smacks. I'm sure it won't cause any permanent damage, except maybe to her ego.
